Fabulous Beach
We travelled on March 19-20, only one day but wished we could have stayed longer, the rooms and beds are super comfortable, they provide fresh coffee, water and croissants in the lobby starting 4am so it was very appreciated since we had an early flight. My daughter loved the kids club and swimming pool, but the things that made our stay here FABULOUS was the Beach, we are beach people and love to stay all day at the beach. I am posting some pictures but the pictures dont do justice for the magnificence of this beach. We only ate there for dinner at the Beach restaurant and the food was delicious, my husband had the tacos and my daughter had the pasta from the kids menu. My Husband and 7 year old daughter snorkeler off the beach and saw many colourful fish, barracudas and a sting ray, they absolutely loved that experience!

One night stay with IHG Points
I used my IHG points to stay one night and then in the morning we were taking a transfer to another resort. We arrived in the afternoon and the bell service did a great job with our bags. We went to eat at Le Cay for dinner. It was overpriced, food quality was below average and the service was awful. We got a drink at the lobby bar and the bartender was friendly and espresso martini was good. In the morning at checkout I complained about the meal we had the night before at Le Cay and was told that I would be hearing follow up about our meal. A week later and I have heard nothing. While the rest of our stay was expectable. The bad experience at the restaurant really ruined our visit. I would not stay hear again or recommend it to a friend.

Lacking …
We first came here 10 years ago when we had a brilliant 10 day stay and today this place has changed beyond recognition. The staff and offer in the Club Lounge are excellent and the two stars here are from them. Check in was pretty smooth and our 2 room suite was 1051 on the 10th floor. There were and are constant water pressure and temperature issues and invariably we showered in cold water in the evening whilst continuously holding the button on the tap down. We did complain on the first day and they came up and “supposedly” fixed the problem., not! There is little by way of welcome. We are Hilton Lifetime Diamond members and as an example we were in the Cancun Hilton for a week before we came here and were met by the Hotel Manager with fresh fruit and cakes sent to our room daily, here .. nothing. There are no promotions on offer that we saw and everybody outside the lounge looked pretty miserable. The management at this hotel are conspicuous by their absence, like nowhere to be seen.. A very big problem was that we were led to believe this was a no smoking hotel and there is a sign as you enter the pool area “No Smoking” and yet in both Bars/Food outlets by the pool there were many ash trays everywhere and people smoking cigarettes and cigars so unfortunately as a smoke sensitive asthma sufferer we had to stay away. I did mention it but just received a shrug. So if you have any form of lung condition, stay away from this hotel. When we checked in we were told without asking our offer/status meant we had a 2pm check out so we arranged our airport collection around this only to be told on the day of check out we had to be out at 1pm, no reasoning, it’s out at 1pm. We complained to a miserable manager which was a waste of time. This is probably the only hotel in the world that refused to change Dollars in Pesos so don’t come here with £ or $ expecting a currency exchange. There is a rip off Dollar cash dispenser in the foyer but it an expensive option but you won’t be able to change the dollars in the hotel anyway. We had one dinner here with a long, long wait for barely warm food. Maybe they should send a team over to the excellent Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane in London for some training in Marketing, Hospitality and Customer Service. This place is seriously lacking.

Great view of the beach
The hotel is well placed with a beautiful beach and some nice restaurants in the resort. The room had a nice view of the beach but the mirror in the bathroom was quite rusty. The hotel provided coffee in the room but no tea so I had to ask for it. The hotel also had a spa which my friend used and said the massage was amazing.

I Love This Location
I have. Stayed here 3 times and it has been amazing. Both times the beach is beautiful. The food is delicious, especially the breakfast. The drinks are always strong and the service in the hotel is amazing. They were really helpful in getting our excursions planned out. The only negative is that if you are on a ground floor, The rooms kind of smell mildewy... I didn't have these issues. When I was in a upper ocean view Room.
