Not a 5* hotel do Not book.
This hotel is NOT a 5+ hotel. The bedrooms are very basic, with hardly no storage space. The reception/check in staff provide a basic customer service they do not recommend restaurants or provide a 5* service. I would say this is a 3.5* hotel. The breakfast is so basic and you do not get much of a choice definitely a 3*. The sausages were over done, the pastry’s did not taste nice. The restaurants are awful, the food is tasteless! - McDonalds is better than this. There are no facilities for children! None at all. Please don’t be fooled by the photos, I live in the UK and have travelled a lot. This isn’t even a 4* hotel.

Best beach. Can trust staff/management.
We've stayed at minimum 10 resorts from Cancun to Tulum and end up back here. Enough palapas you always can find one - and each has 2 recliners plus an Adirondack chair for comfort. Wooden walkways between them because the sand is so soft you sink a bit. Even the tiny bit of seaweed is like cut grass without fish odor. This trip we also used the bellman for taxi and I was shocked. Negotiated rates of $2,000 pesos ($110 USD) for the 2 hour journey to Tulum. Way cheaper than Internet companies - no upcharges or scams. Pure relief on our part. They are also working on different food rates in different restaurants. So the one near the lobby had many options about $300 ($15 USD) . Huge ceviche with beach service $375. So it can be a solid option versus all inclusives for the right person. Mini fridge is very cold, so can store a few items well. Fitness room is small but cool without freezing you. Cons: I don't think there are balcony rooms. Single sinks in bathroom. Terrace rooms are very convenient but no view which is fine with us. No hot tub - only very pretty pool temp swirling extensions of the main pool If you're looking for a full "activity" schedule, this isn't for you. We enjoy quiet so it is perfect for us.

A week in paradise
This was an exceptional stay for us as a group of friends celebrating a 50th birthday. The hotel functions brilliantly as a resort with no actual need to leave the premises at all. It is NOT a budget friendly option, but the staff are friendly and very helpful, the food is delicious - especially the local dishes - the cocktails are really good, and the rooms have insanely beautiful views of the oceans (assuming you’re on the sea-facing side!). The hotel includes 2 pools and its own private beach with a swimming area monitored by a lifeguard between 9am and 6pm. There are 3 restaurants and 2 bars, all of which can serve food. Room service is also an option but the prices nearly double. In your room there is a nespresso machine with caff and decaf pods topped up daily. The housekeeping staff clean your room every day and turn down your bed every evening. The bathroom facilities in the room are a little odd. Firstly the sink is in the closet/wardobe area and there is no door between that and the main bedroom - so if you need to wash your face or brush your teeth before your roommate wakes up, it isn’t really very easy to do so without disturbing them. There is a sliding door to offer privacy between the bathroom area and the main bedroom, but cannot hide both the shower and the washbasin at the same time. On the plus side, if privacy within the room is not a concern, you can have your shower looking out over the ocean! There is a mini fridge in the 2xqueen rooms that is not stocked; we used this to store our own snacks and drinks bought from a nearby supermercado. Prices for food vary but we generally paid £10-£15 for a cocktail, £3-4 for mineral water, £15-20 for a simple main course etc. One thing I would highly recommend if you can cover the cost - on the beach there are sheltered beds you can rent for the day. The only condition is that your bar/food bill come to a minimum of c.US$200. We arranged for this between 6 of us, and with 1-2 drinks and a snack/meal each, we easily covered the cost. The beds are huge with a beautiful thatched roof (which also keeps the rain off if you happen to get any!) and fit 3 large adults easily. We took it in turns to enjoy the bed and added sun loungers alongside for when we weren’t busy swimming. Even without hiring the beds, the private beach is staffed by servers who will bring you drinks and food regularly without you having to move from your lounger. The swimming options are all good. If you swim in the sea, it’s shallow enough to touch the bottom to about 2/3 out. The sand is very fine underfoot, and there are no rocks. There is a fair bit of seaweed, but it is more of a grass/rushes type of plant, and very soft to tread on. The buoys clearly mark the limit of the supervised area, and you wouldn’t want to swim outside that as boats, catamarans and jetskis (all hireable from the hotel) are plentiful in the area just beyond this. Our week here was incredible. The staff were great. Not perfect, but really helpful and if something did get forgotten, they would be very quick to make amends. It feels like nothing would be too much trouble - you only have to ask.

Very nice beach resort. The beach is beautiful.
This was a beautiful resort. I came here for a friend’s wedding. The staff were attentive. The resort has a beautiful beach. The restaurants on site are good. The rooms were comfortable. I would stay here again. This hotel has everything you need for a good vacation on the beach.

This hotel is spectacular!
Beautifully elegant. But the staff is what makes all the difference.. Chef Luis at LeCap is amazing! Try his rissoto your eyes will roll.. It's the best I've had compared to Italy, France, Spain or Portugal.. All his dishes are great haven't had a bad on yet. Been coming here monthly for the last nine years. Great waiters like Miguel at LeCap. Luis, Gustavo, Antonio, Gabriel y Fatima de El Caribeño are amazing they all back each other. They know what your like are and they have it ready before even asking. Happy hour is always a party hosted at the lounge by Josue; he'll cheer up your worst day.. It's unbelievable, from the moment you arrive, the valet crew cast a welcoming smile, you know its all gonna be great. Freddie, Juan and Eddie head the crew as the seniors Alan, Alberto and Victor are quick to jump at a moments notice. This orchestrated flow doesnt just happen. It is leaders like Selene, Fidel and ultimately Jean Prioux the Resort Manager. You wouldn't know it, but he is out daily walking, greeting the guest and making sure nothing is left out.. Try it out, you'll see.
