Had a great time, nice beach friendly staff. I really enjoyed the food and drinks. The beach was clean and not crowded. The lobby was nice and roomy. El Fairmont casino is a two minute walk away as well if you want some live music.overall I had a great time, off to grab breakfast now.

Huge Humidity Problem
There is no question that the hotel is in a great location with it being located on the beach and in walking distance to many restaurants. The room is lovely but the humidity in the room is a big problem. While we were able to keep the sliding glass door shut to prevent the humidity from entering the room, it didn't help. The carpet was damp and I actually thought that maybe it had just been cleaned but that wasn't the case. It was so damp that you had to wear shoes the whole time otherwise your socks or your feet would become wet. While the tissue box was well appointed with the top tissues in the shape of a flower, once you used the flower all the other tissues were clumped together and damp within the tissue box and unusable. Of course, there was a musty odor in the room the whole time. Unfortunately this overshadowed any of the good aspects of the hotel so couldn't wait to check out of the hotel!

February Four Day Getaway
We booked a 4 night girls getaway (to celebrate a 30th birthday) at the Royal Sonesta San Juan upon recommendations from a travel agent. The accommodations were lovely. The property was well maintained, the food was good, the pool and beach were well stocked with both chairs and towels, and all staff, at every area of the hotel, were congenial and courteous. LUIZ at the front desk was helpful and professional. ERNESTO was a fabulous bartender/server, always entertaining and friendly, with wonderful dining and touring suggestions, both on and off the property. JOEL was so great as our server on the busy night of the Superbowl, from finding more seating for our group, to keeping us well hydrated and nourished, he was right on top of everything all evening. HILTON, our daily attendant on the 14th floor was awesome. He would fill every request from suppling more waters, and delivering any extra room supplies, to leaving the most amazing towel art on our beds after servicing our rooms. He always greeted us with a giant smile, and an offer to help us in any way possible. The staff around the pool and beach area rotated daily, but everywhere we went they were always so polite, eager to help, and professional. The only glitch we encountered was at check in, the rooms were not ready at the advertised time. We wished they had offered a later check out on our departure day (free of charge) to make up for the lost time in our room. Overall great stay at the Royal Sonesta San Juan.

all
When it was time to check in, the attendant was extremely rude and did not provide us with the hotel information. At breakfast, the hostesses were very polite and attentive. A tall waitress with shaved hair seemed to be in a bad mood and served us arrogantly. We believe she was not having one of her best days. On the second day, we ordered from all the waiters and waitresses, who were friendly and made us feel comfortable, except for one waitress who was serving the tables inside (a lady with short, shoulder-length hair and glasses). We were at the tables outside after the hostess had already registered us at the entrance. And when we went to serve ourselves, she approached us at the buffet saying that we should not be there without first registering at the entrance, which we did. We felt embarrassed in the presence of the other guests. The room was clean and the room attendants were very attentive. Apart from these small issues, everything was perfect and we will be back soon.

Hospitality is nonexistent. Can’t recommend
Hotel is nice and amenities are good. Hospitality and service is nonexistent. I went to the gym at 3 am, no one was there, I’m exercising for 15 minutes then a worker comes in all of a sudden and rudely says that I can’t be here because I’m working out in slippers. What a joke of a place. Brought it up to front desk and they were unacommodating. Paid $2,200 for 4 nights and I can’t justify the highball price for being treating this poorly. I’d rather have stayed at a motel 6 where they leave you alone than have this bad of an experience here
