This is paradise. So, don't let the drive from the airport deter you from coming here. It's an hour drive but well worth it. The road to the resort, well, the washed away road is a little bumpy and full of holes. But again, don't let that fool you. This place is Beautiful. The views are breathtaking. On a small hill overlooking the Cristal blue waters of the Bahamas. The beach below is a pretty pink sand beach. Pristine. Not a single footprint on it until we walked on it. The place is painted white and reflex nicely on a sunny day. The lobby is cute. Everything looks new. Terez took great care of us. She showed us around the property and introduced us to the staff, including the bar staff. They greeted us with a Bahama Mama upon arrival. Nice touch. She then showed us to our room. A garden view room, which was super nice. The king size bed room had plenty of space for all of our stuff. Closets are huge. Fridge and coffee makers were in the room. The bathroom was a favorite. You got to see it to appreciate the beauty. The local craftsmanship is awesome. Everything about this place was very classy. Let's talk food. The restaurant services great food. Our first night, we had the grouper with rice and veggies. The dish was very fresh. Great taste and flavor. Earlier,I had the fish fingers, and that was great. I can see why people come here for weddings and honeymoon. There were people here every night from around the island to eat and play. We met some folks that have come here for dinner 3 times in a week and drove from pretty far away. So the food is good, I guess. LOL. Anyway, I love this place and I will be back, for sure. Everyone is super nice. Accommodations are great. Food is excellent.

This is just a review for the restaurant of the resort, not the resort itself. The restaurant is nice, with a well-organized open kitchen. Good-quality dishes, attentive and courteous service. This is the island’s restaurant where we spent the most. However, it deserves our return.

Impressive setting.
Restaurant only review. Beautiful setting and very attentive staff. Food was excellent. We enjoyed several of their pasta dishes and we plan to return this trip. Nice wine and beer selection. We dined “inside” under cover with wonderful ocean views.

Incredible Birthday dinner
What an incredible place to enjoy a great dinner. We both had fresh fish and it was incredible. The view is unreal, overlooking the water. One of the best meals and service we had in Eleuthera. This place is a must. The staff was very attentive. The road in is a bit bumpy but quite an adventure. This is a must visit while on the island

Best hotel for couples
This is an exceptional small hotel/resort for couples. The on site hotel-style rooms are spacious and clean, incredibly near to the beach, pool and restaurant/bar. There are so many wonderful things to do and see on Eleuthera, but one could definitely remain at La Bougainvillea the entire time. That said, this is a great location on the island. Special thanks to Martin at the bar for helping make the vacation especially fun.
