Outstanding location with many better places to stay
I would recommend this resort only for its location - right in the heart of the Golden Zone within easy walking distance of many good restaurants, live entertainment, and the north end of the Malecon. The building and furnishings are old, small and needs work. It does not, by any means, deserve the Gold Crown designation and I have come to believe that RCI gives far more weight to the location than anything else. Las Flores is no better than an average 3-star resort. Very basic everything, so, if you only plan to sleep here you will probably be OK, except for back-breaking hard beds and poor shower water pressure. While I speak enough Spanish to get by, they make little effort to have an English-speaking staff member available should a more complex issue arise. And if you did not know you were travelling with RCI, you never would as there is zero representation at the resort. We never even found any means of bookings tours and the like through the resort.

Stay away
Booked the high end room with jaquzzi room. At 279 you would think it would be a great room. Hot tub was nasty and no hot water. No hot water in shower , no heat in the room, kitcnette stove didn’t work either. We tried to check out early and they said that we had to talk to Expedia Expedia said the hotel was in charge of refund. So here goes the lying. We moved to the courtyard next door and had a fabulous room and visit

Great Location
Nice beach with many restaurants and shops nearby. Be prepared for loud bands on the beach. Softer beds would be helpful.

We love this place
This was our second time at the Los Flores. Here are my pros and a few cons about the resort. Pros The location is the best..right in the heart of the Golden Zone within walking distance to many restaurants, bars with live music, shops and directly on the beach. Staff are nice and friendly Food and drinks at hotel restaurant are good and fast service poolside. Main pool is heated and from what we found most pools in Mazatlan are not heated and it is needed since it tends to cool down in the evening during busy travel months Cons and things that could make it better Mattresses are hard and not comfortable..need to replace Need more storage..dresser to put stuff away or place items. we had to use ironing board Need to clean or fix the air conditioning..ours dripped into the closet shelf where my clothes were..it’s an old building so probably in need of new units. Don’t be so strict on bringing outside food to pool.. I realize you want to make money off selling your restaurant food but there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to bring a bag of chips or light snack. If you tell us we can’t eat by the pool then we can just go to our rooms and eat and come back. No difference. As a guest it’s not nice to be told and I’m sure the wait staff doesn’t like to tell guests either. This is an older resort with some wear and tear but all the other good things about it makes up for that in my opinion. We will be back for sure.

Can not beat location.
Older resort, but clean had everything we needed. beach is very nice, not to many people, except on Cruise Ship days (cruise ship passengers are welcome here) very busy on these days. Staff - my experience mostly good, except a security guard Damien.. he came at us very angry waving his hands yelling at us, he was speaking in spanish (i know its the language there) but i had no idea what he was yelling about. As luck has it a lady and her husband helped with translation. The issue was my pool bag was open and laying on top of my stuff was a bag of nachoes (apparently not allowed on pool deck, i was never told this when checked in or any time during my stay) We were in hot tub when this all started, no where near my bag, and no one was eating the nachoes. we had just came up from the beach. My frustration, Why was Damien looking in my bag in the first place? Why did he not get a staff member that i could communicate with and simply tell us that nachoes was not allowed on pool deck? Why did he get so angry and make me feel like i had done something criminal? I did go to front desk and report, someone did talk to me and assure me that this would not happen again, and it didnt. The front desk did also tell me that the next morning i would get a call from the manager, but that did not happen. Damien ignored me for the rest of our stay. I am not a rule breaker, and i am not a complainer but this did have an impact on the rest of my stay, i was on edge and nervous that he would approach me in this manner again. The rest of the staff were kind. Location of hotel in golden zone would be hard to beat, you are right in the center of all resturants, and entertainment. Yes i would return Front desk should give all guests at check in a list of the rules.
