Nice property! Akima was great!
We came for the Night Kayaking and Akima at the front desk took care of us. She was kind and helpful, and went above and beyond! Overall we had a great experience and we will definitely return based on this experience. The hotel provides shuttles and is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Definitely recommend! Keep up the great work! Shout out to Akima again!!!

Lovely stay
The Westin was lovely! The views were impeccable and the staff were so welcoming. We had dinner at Luna - our food was delicious and our server, Ashlee, was terrific, prompt and so helpful! When we return to St Thomas, we'll definitely stay here again!

Britany Leonard, the BEST waitress at Luna Mar
Britany Leonard was our waitress at the Luna Mar restaurant at the Westin Beach Resort at Frenchman’s Reef. She was the best! So helpful with meal suggestions. She was so cute, friendly, personal, attentive, and had the cutest smile! We just loved her!! Just Adorable! 1/18/25 ~Beckie

St. Thomas and St. John are a Paradise!
We had stayed here years before the hurricane destroyed the site. So happy to be back to the newly restored resort. Great location, amazing views, and the friendliest most helpful staff. Our server Britany Leonard at Luna Mar was wonderful and shared tips and recommendations about the island. We hope to return again next year.

WORST RESORT EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE
I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING AT THIS HOTEL. We had a terrible experience throughout our 3-day stay and wish we had stayed elsewhere. The hotel is extremely expensive for the incredibly poor quality of the resort and low level of service they provide. From check in to check out, our experience was beyond poor. On our last day in St. Thomas, we opted to spend 5 hours at the airport rather than spend that time at the hotel because we were so disappointed with our experience there. See below for details on various aspects of our poor experience with the Westin. Check In: After waiting 20 minutes to check into the hotel, we were assigned room 3124 and given keys. This room is under construction and inaccessible (see picture). We went back to the front desk and explained the room situation to them. They didn’t really seem to care, but did assign us a second room and gave us new keys. When we went to the new room, the keys didn’t work. The hotel said they would send security up to help us access the room. Security explained that they had assigned the keys wrong at the front desk and that we would need to go back there to sort it out. After the third time we went to the desk and got our keys reprogrammed, we were able to access the new room. Hotel Amenities: A big part of the reason that we chose to book with the hotel is that they guests with Hobie Cat sailboats to take out on the beach. During our first day, I asked if we could take one out. The Hobie Cat rental desk said that it wouldn’t be possible because there wasn’t enough wind. That seemed reasonable, so I let them know I would come back tomorrow. The next day, they said the wind was too high. I have pretty extensive sailing experience and the wind was about 8 knots, which is not too high at all for any sailing. I asked the front desk if it would be possible for us to take a Hobie Cat out since the wind was solid. The front desk said it would not be possible because there was not enough wind. When I mentioned that the Hobie Cat rental desk said there was actually too much wind, they told me that it’s a tropical location and the winds are unpredictable. I checked several sources and the wind was a solid, consistent eight knots the entire day and preceding four hours. When I asked both the Hobie Cat desk and front desk if we could take one of the boats out now, one of them told me we couldn’t because the wind was coming from the wrong direction and another told me it was because there was too much wind. I had the same experience all three days I requested to take a Hobie Cat out. Housekeeping: The housekeeping staff repeatedly banged on our door and yelled at us when we asked not to be disturbed. We requested clean towels at one point and they weren’t provided. Not really a huge deal, but very inconsistent with my experience at other Westins and other similar style island resorts. The housekeeping team here and the general level of service at the resort was pretty sub-par. Food Quality: The food at the resort is bad. St. Thomas has a few restaurants that are quite good, but none of them are located in the Westin. We dined at all of the on-property restaurants and much like our experience with every other aspect of the resort, we were consistently disappointed. If you do find yourself in the unfortunate situation of staying at this resort, I’d recommend dining elsewhere. Transportation: The taxi situation in St. Thomas is really strange. Taxi prices are per-person and different with luggage etc. Ride prices are not fixed or based on distance / time like they are in most cities. It’s well known by locals that taxis try to scam people on the island. I found it odd that the Westin has taxis standing by, but they would not help with acquiring fair pricing and ensuring hotel residents are not taken advantage of. At times, the Westin valet / taxi staff would even contribute to helping taxi drivers mark up their prices and scam tourists. A well-managed hotel that cared about the guest experience would just post rates and inform drivers picking up at the property that they need to stick to those rates. Marriott Rewards Program: Many of the Marriott perks that almost every hotel under one of the Marriott brands recognizes were not recognized at this hotel. We have a lot of nights at Marriott properties and are typically given a room upgrade and late checkout. Neither of those things were available here despite there being lots of availability for both in the inventory posted online. Price: For the low quality of every aspect of this hotel, the price is outrageous. Our discounted rate of $600/night felt like one of the biggest travel ripoffs we have ever seen. To be clear, I don’t think this resort would be good value at even $100/night. The fast that it costs between 6-10x that is absurd. Over the last ten years, we’ve probably stayed in 20 different beach resorts. I would rank this hotel dead last out of the 20 by a serious distance. We talked to many others during our trip that had a similarly poor experience. AVOID THIS HOTEL.
