Property and staff are awesome, food is...acceptable
Our second visit to Occidental at Xcaret. The property and the staff are absolutely wonderful and why we come back. The food has always been average but acceptable, but the specialty restaurants seem to have been struggling with quality this visit. We weren't there during a particularly busy week, so I'm not sure what the issue was. The buffets were still what we expected. But the rest of the experience made that part something we could overlook.

Everything about the resort was amazing. The staff and guest were all very friendly. The scenery was beautiful. I highly recommend this place. I will be going back soon...

Would have been a great location but you have bird poop and monkey poop in the hallways, poop in the pool (unsure if it was human or animal poop), there were no daily day entertainment variety, night entertainment was lackluster and the food was either bland, undercooked, overcooked or just salty with no variety! I’m disappointed considering I was made to believe this is a 5 star resort, it sure didn’t feel like it. I napped a lot from the boredom.
