Feb 21, 2025A small hotel with excellent staff !
We really enjoyed this hotel- the staff are friendly and helpful ! The food was delicious- we enjoyed the Mexican restaurant the best but the buffet, and Italian restaurant were also great with many selections. Mimosas for breakfast and chocolate martins for dessert!!!! The drinks were delish and the bar tenders were amazing ! Would definitely recommend !

Let's start with the Staff. Overall, wonderful, except the front desk check in people. They are just let's get to the next person. They don't explain anything, restaurants WIFI, hours NADA. Here is your key now go! Everyone else is great. ONE thing they don't not talk about in booking. YOU are limited to how many fine dining restaurants you can go to. IE, 2-5 nights is TWO fine dining. I did not learn this until I got there. Food: reservation meals are good. Mexican restaurant was great, Veronica the host was fabulous. Italian was good, Seafood above average. THE buffet is horrible. small selection, not refilled, not appealing appearance. the snack bar is not kept up, often out of items, coffee machine broke. IF there is a staff member there, they are busy talking to staff from other parts of hotel up getting free food. DRINKS: Horrible. It's not the bartenders fault. The mixes they have are cheap, and nothing but processed sugar. I don't think you could get worse mixers. They are weak drinks, but just ask for a side shot. POOL: cold, cold cold. Activities staff: poor, only interested in selling you activities. They don't even participate in the activities. CHAIR SAVING IS OUT OF CONTROL!!! by 7:00 AM, the chairs are all reserved with the towels, books. resort does nothing to hinder this. The resort just feels like management is LAZY. I feel if the staff had direction they would improve greatly

Girls Weekend
For a long weekend, this was perfect. Close proximity to the airport, very clean rooms and property, and service was top notch. Sandra and Henry made the trip for us. Food was ok - nothing amazing and was able to find something to eat at every meal. Always could find pool and beach chairs when we wanted. Smaller resort which was perfect for our short trip. Overall would recommend!

Wonderful Vacation
We loved our time at Occidental Costa Cancun. The property is beautiful, the food is good and the drinks are cold. Our very favourite part of our vacation was the staff. Everyone has been so kind and friendly. Giovanni Martinez, “Princess” Regina, and Laura, 3 of the entertainment staff, made sure that our vacation was extra fun and Sandra Cruz is the best waitress I’ve ever met. Thank you for a wonderful holiday! ❤️

This visit has been amazing. This is my third time at this resort and I can’t wait to come back. It is small and homey; when you go from your room to the beach it’s within three minutes it’s all very close but yet there’s good entertainment the restaurants are good and the drinks are fantastic. The service from Alex, Enrique, Sandra and Carmen is the best.
