Completely unacceptable experience
The situation my family experienced during our stay at this hotel was completely unacceptable, especially as it directly affected our children. Our children were left sad and confused, repeatedly asking why the staff behaved so poorly towards us. It was incredibly difficult for us, as parents, to explain why they were being treated this way. Key Incidents: Disco Incident: On the second day of our stay, security rudely and impolitely forced all families with children out of the disco area. There were many of us, particularly just before New Year’s Eve. Everything in the hotel shuts down at 11 PM, and we were on holiday and simply wanted to spend some enjoyable time together and dance. We all left disappointed and returned to our rooms. Beach Access: In an absurd turn of events, we were forbidden from walking along the shoreline with our children along the Eden Hotel beach. Security aggressively approached us, claiming we had no right to be there. The children were walking calmly with us and we were talking; no one was running or disturbing anyone. Crepes Station: The staff member (Mrs. Judith) at the Crepe station was consistently rude and behaved as if she was working under duress. The atmosphere was so hostile that our children are now afraid to order crepe on their own and ask us to do it for them. Final Incident with Security: We experienced another unacceptable incident where security mocked us and refused entry to our tour guide, despite phone calls from reception confirming he should be allowed in. We were walking in heavy rain with our children to the gate, and the security staff could clearly be heard laughing and mocking us, saying sarcastically that we could even speak Spanish to him. It's a good thing our guide took photographic documentation, because the security guard started lying, denying everything, and talking about things that never happened at all. New Year's Eve Party: The New Year's Eve party was also a major disappointment. There was no opportunity to dance properly. Instead of playing music for everyone, only a handful of people were left by 1 AM. The animator kept talking into the microphone during songs, and the tracks were changed every 15 seconds (we timed it on a smartwatch). We have a comparison with our trip to Madagascar, where everyone danced until 5 AM because music for everyone was played, even salsa. Is this what a holiday is supposed to look like? I have spoken to other guests who confirmed that we are not the only ones who experienced such treatment. Many do not report it, feeling nothing will change; they simply wait for their week to end and vow never to return. This situation deserves serious attention from management. Basic respect should be a minimum standard for any establishment, especially one catering to families. We are sad to say that we certainly will not be returning and will not recommend this hotel. We are not picky people. We just wanted to relax with our children and be treated with kindness. Is that really too much to ask?

Overrated, unfair and avoid if you are vegetarian
Cons: 1. Room Downgrade: Booked a Rooftop suite 3 months ago; forced into a 3 level lower-tier pool-view room upon arrival (no early communication). They proposed only a tiny refund (~ 10%) rather than the actual price difference (~33%+) for their miss and that you not yet transferred. It is a huge disappointment specially it was my biggest and only reason for choosing this resort 3 months ago. 2. Food Crisis: If you are vegetarian, do not come here. Restaurants are constantly out of stock and hardly have any non-meat options. Forget about the taste. We mostly survived on Fries and Pasta at Martha (15-40mins queue). Thali restaurant served accidentally fish as veg. Even in the privilege lounge, we waited 90 mins for a Boca burger. All pool lounges serve very cheap alcohols. 3. Absent Service: Managers avoid you when things go wrong. Housekeeping skipped our room despite reminders. "Privilege" service is non-existent. 4. Poor Amenities: "Lazy River" has no current. No hot tubs (only cold water). Kids' area has no safety vests. Towels are constantly out. Chairs are hardly available. 5. There is no Uber or DoorDash so you cannot go out easily or order food from outside. Nor anything near by. Pros: • May be it is okay resort if you are not a vegetarian and have paid only around $200-300 a night for just 3 days. Beyond that it is not worth it. The service standard is hardly 3 star. The 5 star and 4.7 in google rating is very deceptive. I left 2 days early due to mental harassment of constant follow ups, food struggle and poor service. Still waiting on my refund. Don’t fall for their high ratings. I fell for it 3 months ago. It seems it is overrated by time-share trapped folks. Who themselves are trapped by their sales folks on the first day of your arrival. It has been a very regrettable experience staying and following up for everything.

Not a true 5 star
My husband and I book this for our honeymoon. We were excited because we both haven’t been to Jamaica before however we were a bit taken aback with the resort. The rooms were outdated and the washrooms especially the showers grout looked aged and showed darkened areas. We had a a garden view room the room faced an area where it attracted mosquitoes. Food was good. Not much entertainment and although we were in Jamaica we felt there was a heavy Spanish influence.

Come for the resort not the food
Close to airport beautiful property for the price.Limited food options and they are not that great at all.best option is the jerk hut.Alcoholic drinks are tasty not watered down. The buffet had limited food and extremely limited Caribbean dishes.also the hotel has to do better when it comes to the beach chair and poolside seating.Towels and personal items from 6:30am to hold a seat for the day unacceptable but other then that Staff is attentive and friendly.unfortunately I will not be returning based on the food.

Modern resort, Jamaican hospitality, but not 5-star.
Ocean Coral Spring Resort is, in my view, a 4-star all-inclusive that delivers value, warm service, and a fun, modern resort experience—just not a true 5-star luxury stay. And that distinction matters. The Rooms & Resort Condition The rooms are modern, spacious, clean, and clearly recently built. Everything felt well made and thoughtfully designed. Outside of two important caveats (more on that below), the rooms were quiet and comfortable. There was very little visible hurricane damage—all restaurants were open and operating normally, and we experienced no issues at all related to that. Service & Hospitality This is where Coral Spring really shines. The staff was consistently friendly, welcoming, and genuinely warm. You truly feel Jamaican hospitality here—service felt natural, not forced. It’s the kind of experience that actually makes you want to get out and explore Jamaica more on a future trip. Beach & Pools The beach is on the smaller side, but it’s white sand with calm water and is conveniently located steps from the pool and restaurants. It works well, but don’t expect a massive beachfront. There is one large main pool for the entire resort. It functions fine, but compared to other resorts with multiple pools, this was a drawback. Securing loungers was also frustrating—chairs were often saved early or already taken, which became a daily annoyance. On the plus side, the resort has excellent water features: water slides, a lazy river, and plenty to keep young families and groups entertained. Food & Drinks There are lots of food options, smoothie bar, cafe, and the restaurant designs are modern and well done aesthetically. The food was good enough with solid variety, but this is where expectations need to be set properly. If you’ve stayed at true 5-star resorts—the food here falls short of that level. Nothing was bad, but it wasn’t memorable or elevated. Interestingly, many guests who ventured off-resort said the local restaurants had excellent food and they felt safe doing so. Bars were a highlight: several good options including the main lounge, sports bar, plus a bowling alley, theatre, live music venues, and the café. The gym was also a perfect size, floor to ceiling windows and well equipped. The Negatives (Worth Knowing) • Check-in was far too long and felt disorganized, which was a frustrating way to start the trip. Waited far too long for our room. • We were given a room with an adjoining door, and even with the door closed, we could clearly hear conversations next door. Not good. If you’re a single family or couple, request a room without an adjoining room. • UPDATED: The Room Safe didn’t work. It said it was closed but I opened it right up. Good thing as I see other recent reviews where money was taken from the safe. Not good! We didn’t bring a lot of cash and we kept our valuables with us so we were okay. But they had better fix this issue or many won’t return. • Pool chair availability, all beach chairs were taken early in the morning and there is only one main pool setup, noticeable drawbacks having to reserve chairs or find extra chairs. Overall Verdict Ocean was Spring Resort is a very good 4-star resort, not a 5-star—and that’s okay if you go in with the right expectations. Clean, modern rooms, strong amenities, great entertainment options, and truly standout Jamaican hospitality make it a worthwhile stay. The service alone made us want to come back to Jamaica and explore beyond the resort next time—which, honestly, says a lot. Bottom line: If you value friendly service, modern accommodations, and a lively resort atmosphere more than gourmet dining or ultra-luxury, Ocean Spring delivers decent value and a genuinely enjoyable experience. Highly recommend supporting Jamaica especially post hurricane!
