Great Time Great Staff
Ocean Maya Royale was a great experience. This is not a Privilege stay review. The tropical village vibe with immaculate walkways and vegetation is amazing. Pleasant staff in every area. Activities were always happening and love Kendall and Dali. Pool bar did well on most drinks if you stick to their menu. The real unsung heroes were the barista in Mikes coffee lounge and the ice cream guy near the pool. Nightly shows were good and Sports Bar has good food all night. I chose to remove a full star from overall review because of the food. The buffet was never good. The food was not piping hot or steaming. Maybe warm at best. Many items were also mislabeled. The morning omelet lady was the best bet to get something done correctly. The only restaurant we tried was Mexican and everything we ate was awful. Finally, when booking and paying for Ocean view room you may get an ocean view building. My room 904 had a view of building 10. I did see the ocean when I sat outside of the sliding glass doors. So I get it.

Second Time as Good as the First
This was our second time to OMR and it did not disappoint. We went with two other couples this time and they also really enjoyed the ten days. The Privilege package is a must to have as far as we are concerned. So many perks that it is worth the extra money. Our butler, Allein, was excellent. He was very responsive to our WhatsApp questions and requests. He made all of our reservations for us and checked in multiple times throughout the stay to make sure everything was good. Our toilet plugged once and he had someone fix it within an hour. The service in all parts of the resort is always excellent. Everyone works very hard to make the guests' stay as good as possible. I hesitate to mention names (we feel bad we didn't make more of an effort to write down names) as all staff are excellent but we have a special place in our hearts for Jesus. He works in the Privilege area of the beach and restaurant. He is a great guy and works very hard. The food at OMR is always excellent. We never had a bad meal. We usually ate breakfast in the privilege restaurant, lunch at El Charro and supper at one of the a 'la cartes. The other two couples preferred the buffet. They are about 30 years younger than us so maybe they like all of the options while my wife and I prefer ordering off a menu. As a group Blue Moon was our favorite restaurant, closely followed by El Charro. My wife and I went for sushi one night at the Japanese restaurant and it was as good as I've had anywhere. We did have the buffet twice and it is very good with a wide variety of foods for any palette. There is included 24 hour room service for privilege. We didn't use it this year but last time we did a few times and it was good and quick. Our room was very nice. Water pressure was good and always lots of hot water. King size bed was very comfortable, lots of pillows, AC worked great, mini fridge stocked everyday with a wide variety of beers, liquor, soft drinks, water and juice. Lots of channels on the television in both Spanish and English. The resort itself is very well maintained. Grounds people are always doing something to keep everything looking top notch. We like the two pools. One is louder than the other and has lots of activities going on all day. We prefer the quieter pool although the foam party at the party pool was fun. We didn't do any excursions but you can book them right by the pool. There are some people always wandering around trying to sell you something but they are polite and don't bother you if you just say no thanks. Some negatives of the resort would be the beach. Not much of a beach on the Privilege side and a fair bit of seaweed. They do clean it at least once every day. Another negative would be the chair game that happens at so many resorts. On the non-privilege side you need to get a towel out fairly early if you want a good spot. On the Privilege side there was always good spots but some people would still have their towel on chairs early and then either never show up or not show up until much later in the day. There are signs posted saying not to do this but it is not enforced. We did not see this last time we were at the resort, and would like to see it enforced a bit better. Not a big deal for us as we always got a decent spot but it's a pet peeve. Overall the pros far outweigh the cons for this resort. At this price point we feel it would be hard to find a better resort or better staff.

Foam party!!!
So this was my very first trip outside of Canada, and all I can say is wow! The staffs energy in is amazing and they're so fun. Our personal favorite activity was the foam party, absolutely wild and soo much fun. Viri and Oswald are amazing, but like the rest of the staff are just great.Highly recommend it over and over again

Awesome time! Can’t wait to go back next year! 4.8/5
Myself, my husband and another couple stayed at Oceans Maya Royale for the first time and we will be back! We had 11 fantastic days with them. The food was awesome, the entertainment exceeded our expectations and the rooms where perfect! The staff where fabulous, Viri, Pillar and Kendall where exceptional and made us feel like we were part of the family. I miss them already and we have only been home 1 day. We met so many interesting people from around the globe, some of whom return every year. Our friends were celebrating their 25th anniversary. Viri , whom is a very special lady, planned a private activity on the beach complete with Champagne and hors d’oeuvres to help us celebrate. Which was finished off with a wonderful photo session with Eric. Thank you for a lovely surprise celebration. I would rate this resort at 4.8/5. The only downside was the minibar as lacking with very little selection and it took several requests to get an extra blanket in our room. All things considered, my new favorite resort! Thank you 💜🥂

Fun time with friends
I visited Ocean Maya to celebrate a group of friends for their birthdays. From the moment we arrived we were all made to feel special. We were I try to our butler, Fabian and he made sure we had an excellent time. Each day we were given the schedule, he made our reservations and even surprised the birthday people with fun decor and surprises in their rooms. My room was comfortable, clean and well maintained. The privilege areas were well maintained and all of the staff were very accommodating. Margarita helped us arrange a trip to Tulum and the cenotes which was really cool, highly recommend you do that. The food was good and the drinks were flowing. I would recommend this resort for couples, friends or any adult who just wants to enjoy themselves.
