will not stay here again due to lack of customer service

Got yelled at the Front Desk by Helene for asking to check-in my son before his arrival so that we could save time due to some activities planned. The entire lobby needed to know that I booked this resort through Costco and that my reservation wasn't even linked to my son's (same last names, booked all in one reservation!) as if this has anything to do with my request. When asked to speak to a manager, she said the following: "My manager is even meaner than me and she is in the meeting, so no- she will not come see you". I did not want to escalate as this was already ruining my vacation, so we left. Same message about not being able to check him in could have been delivered in an acceptable, polite matter with lower volume. This left bad taste in my mouth. Also, my son's room was too hot with AC on (76) when we got back at night. Called Front Desk and was told that they will bring floor fans... really? for $8K one week trip? One other day room wasn't cleaned. After few failed attempts, son called from outside line. Front desk apologized, said that they will clean tomorrow and hang up before asking for the room number :) Hospitality, customer service is lacking big time at the front desk. Housekeepers and maintenance guys were very friendly and polite. Hotel itself is nice, comfortable beds/rooms. Proximity to the beach is awesome.

    Perfect Trip

The whole Trip was awesome! The Hotel is clean and wonderful. Especially Delia und Renaldo were so cute and Friendly - we will come back sure. The weather in April ist super sunny and hot and we got to see some whales. I was with my husband and my parents for Honeymoon and enjoyed it so.

Aloha spirit next to Black Rock!

From checking in with a warm greeting from Helene at the front desk all the way until we checked out - Hawaiian Hospitality was displayed throughout our stay! Everyone we had contact with were truly exceptional and made us feel right at home. Housekeepers and groundsmen always greeted us with “Aloha” and HELE ON breakfast staff were friendly as well. (Just watch out for the birds- they cute tho!) I am sure it’s a testament to the exceptional management team that they have there. Two standouts come to mind are Dora from the reservations department and Hotel GM Edwin as they truly exemplify the spirit of Aloha and you can see that this trickles down to the staff as they look genuinely happy to be there. This property is situated VERY close to Black Rock and Whalers Village is just a very short walk away so the wife didn’t mind. Maui Brewing Company is their main restaurant on property and their fish tacos and filet mignon were great! Would book here back in a heartbeat! Mahalo Outrigger KBR!

Our stay at the Outrigger Beach Resort in Maui.

Quiet grounds and beautiful beach. The cultural lessons were very informative and interesting with Instructor Anela who taught the language and Lei making classes who was very knowledgeable amd informative. Rooms were spacious and clean. Room Attendant May always greeted us with a smile and left a positive note in our room after attending to it. She was always pleasant and kept our rooms clean and replenished with fresh towels, linens and amenities.
