    What a hole!

Worst resort I've ever been to, especially for a family. Ice cream parlour was cool, but every single aspect of the resort was terrible. Staff unfriendly, no lifeguards at the pool, drinks watered down, food was terrible, impossible to book a restaurant, rocky beach... Avoid this place.

    January in Playa

My daughter, granddaughter and I stayed at the kids club part of the resort. The kids water park was great for a 3 year old, however there was no age restriction for children making it uncomfortable/unsafe at times for the younger ones. There wasn’t much in the way of kids activities and the staff generally appeared very unhappy and disinterested. Food was okay, typical all inclusive fare. Bonus was access to the ice cream shop which we enjoyed very much. Room was a good size, bed was comfortable and we appreciated the roll out bed for my granddaughter. Overall, it was okay, not great.

    Bad experience

Cleanliness of the bathroom very bad, the buffet food is very bad, the buffet is dirty and smells damp, the food does not taste good. They're very insistent on selling you their programs, I think it was one of the worst things about the trip, you're not gonna buy, you're gonna vacation.

Family holidays, more or less family, especially LESS!

First, hotel and clean rooms. The à la carte restaurant LA VAQUERIA is definitely the best, reservation required, the employees are friendly. For the other à la carte restaurants, no appreciation, especially the Italian restaurant MAMA MIA, the service was absolutely zero, no communication. On the other hand, the GREEN and ORANGE buffets are of a wide variety with freshness, which made the lunches very pleasant. Second, employees are almost on the verge of leaving their positions, without enthusiasm or welcome. Waiters only watch for tips, otherwise the service is tasteless. As for the sea, it is full of stones of all sizes, along the full length of the beach. Finally, with great sadness, in a so-called family hotel, there was absolutely no activity for children, an unexpected shock, especially for the dates chosen specifically for this, that is, from January 1 to January 8, 2025.

Great vacation for a friends wedding

The family club is was perfect for us and those of us in our group with children. They have a swimming area for younger children with a pirate ship and a few splash centre in the same area. We were always provided with a high chair for our 9 month old (we did have to ask) and the staff were always accommodating and interactive with our little one. Although the family club was a bit far from the beach, central swim areas, a la cartes, and the two central buffets, we enjoyed the walks to and from each of them. The family club does have their own buffet which is geared towards children and a coffee and ice cream place that was perfect for us! If you’re not staying in the family club, you aren’t able to eat at the pirate buffet or enjoy the coffee/ice cream place. We had a swim out room which did not face the sun though so the pool was quite cold but otherwise okay. You have your own bar at the pink hut in the area too which was nice and close! We did have friends staying in the premium area so we lucked out with room service at night if we wanted! The premium location is closer to the beach and far away from the 2 main supper buffets but you do get premium liquor and a separate section on the beach with chairs. We also had friends who came solo and as couples. Everyone enjoyed their time here. The resort literally has everything you could need: multiple pools, buffets, a la cartes, snacks, bars, entertainment, shopping, souvenirs, shuttle service to town at set times of day, and a variety of animals (monkeys - we did see a woman get ambushed and bitten by one while carrying fruit, coati’s, iguanas, deer, cats, birds, etc.). Do try the lunchtime tacos! They were amazing! We were at the resort for a wedding and so our time was quite busy with our groups shenanigans but it was a lot of fun. This was our first time at a resort this big and although we enjoyed our time here, we do prefer smaller resorts. Our biggest complaint was, the resort is huge and as such, it felt like you were missing out on the things happening through out the day in various areas. The beach is beautiful but once in the ocean, there is a bunch of coral floating around and water shoes are needed unless you’re not worried about hurting your feet. There is one area that is much shallower that doesn’t have any coral floating around and you can walk out quite far into the ocean. The coati’s were a little annoying. They will break into your room if you forget to lock your screen door (oops 😅) and they will try to steal any food you have in bags or personal items if not zipped up or secured (double oops 😅).
