Beware of $250 Extra Housekeeping SCAM
Stayed for 2 weeks in ocean suites. Family of four and we had a tiny garbage can. Requested a larger one and it was ignored. For a family of four, our room was kept immaculate. When we left, obviously the bed was not made and there were some used towels and dirty dishes in sink - keep in mind this is a full service hotel. Hours after checkout, received a bill for $250 “extra cleaning fee.” I immediately called and asked to speak to the manager, was told first that Marisa, the housekeeping manager was in a meeting. Called again and was told she was off today. On the third try, I was transferred to her and was told that there was some wrappers on the floor (we left a small pile of garbage because there was nowhere else to put it) and some trash under the bed? She said she would send a video of the “mess” which she did not send. Seems like this is a $250 scam - she is refusing to refund me and refused to connect me with the GM. This was my 4th two week stay in 4 years and I am very disappointed.

Great Stay!
What a great stay!! The rooms on the Ocean Suites side are spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Pros: - daily boat ride to access flamingo island - spacious 1 bedroom suites with awesome housekeeping services - beautiful grounds - access to great restaurants and shops - drinks are strong, and happy hour was a nice touch yet very inconsistent - service on flamingo island was awesome (big shout to Carla!!) Cons: - the towel game was fierce (most chairs tagged before 7am and no one in them before mid-afternoon) - happy hour was inconsistent on what was included versus not included (bartender dependent, it seems) - while flamingo island was super cool, the boat was often full and other guests would push past others who were clearly already waiting - service poolside was inconsistent and seemed random Overall, it was a great stay! I’m not sure if I would stay again, as the boat was fun the first few days but got old and tiresome as the resort/cruise ship became more crowded. - limited floats at flamingo island

Great Staff with with quality Marriott service
The moment you get to the hotel free parking, which is nice. It’s easy to get there. They greet you at the door with a smile. The two gentleman that met us at the Door were so helpful and so friendly. The restaurants were all great. The ladies making the omelettes were awesome I enjoyed the gym every day All the restaurants, the bartenders , wait staff give you quality service with a smile. The Infiniti beach is beautiful. The location of the hotel is right near tons of restaurants and bars. Me and my wife and teenage daughters had a great time in Curaçao and I’m so glad we chose the Marriott

Not good.
PROS: The private island is definitely the highlight of this property. Cabana rental cost is very high ($600/day) but worth it. Breakfast at Aquarius was good. CONS: Requested early check-in but we did not get our room until an hour after normal check in. The elevators are small and don’t have AC. Our “upgraded” room had a Juliet balcony that overlooks rooftops. The shower was 24” wide. Had to say hello to staff members before they greeted us. The steakhouse pretends to be high-end but it isn’t. The pool is small and overlooks the street below where noise and exhaust fumes make lounging unpleasant. The pool deck furniture is FILTHY!! I can’t believe this is all $900/nt gets you.

Exceptional service in Aruba
We have stayed at the Renaissance Ocean Suites in Aruba for many years and have always been incredibly pleased. They are careful to attend to all the details and it shows. Our housekeeper Maritza is the absolute best. She has become like family to us. When we arrive she greets us with hugs and the warmest welcome. She works so hard to ensure a sparkling room each day-removing literally every hair and grain of sand each day. My family member requires daily changing of sheets and she does it with a smile. We couldn’t be more thankful for Maritza. We also have appreciated the help that Etrovina has given. She is equally kind, caring and helpful! We love the Renaissance Island and spend our days there. The boat to the island is awesome and we always appreciate the safety and care the drivers show. We use the shuttle to go to the mall and appreciate the convenience of this service. The drivers are always friendly. We also needed help from the Navigator who booked dinner reservations for us for several nights. She even offered to call the following day since one of our restaurants was closed. And she did! This year we had breakfast a few times on the island and it was so delicious! Way too much food but plenty of leftovers that you look forward to! Service at the restaurant is exceptional, as well as servers who came to our palapa. I also participated in the Tuesday yoga class on the island. The instructor was exceptional! She provided great cues to us. Lastly, we used the services in the island for snorkel gear and a floating mat. Also great offers that are free for staying at the hotel. I could go on and on! Thank you for another great year, Renaissance Ocean suites!
