Exceptional Experience at Riu Dunamar, Cancun – February 2025
We just returned from an unforgettable week at Riu Dunamar in Cancun, and I can honestly say that everything was exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms, which were spotless and tidied every single day. The all-inclusive food experience surpassed our expectations. The variety and quality of the meals were incredible! The main restaurant always offered a great selection, including Italian cuisine (pizza and pasta), American favorites (burgers, fries, and hot dogs), fresh seafood, and, my personal favorite, authentic Mexican dishes. There was also a delicious assortment of cakes, pastries, and fresh fruits available at all times. While breakfasts did repeat a bit, the sheer variety ensured that everyone could find something to enjoy, even if you’re not a particularly picky eater. We also dined at the specialty restaurants, and our favorite by far was the Asian restaurant, Bamboo. It was absolutely phenomenal and a highlight of our trip. The Riu Party at the hotel was a blast! The entertainment team, especially during the fun adult games at 3 pm, made the experience unforgettable. The cocktail service at the beach and pool was fantastic. A special shoutout to Manny, who served drinks by the pool—he was not only great at his job but also an incredibly friendly and hardworking individual. The selection of alcohol was great, and overall, we felt completely taken care of throughout our stay. I honestly have no complaints whatsoever. We had such a wonderful time that we’re already planning our next trip to Cancun, and we’ll definitely be staying at Riu Dunamar again!

Great hotel and staff
We stayed at the Riu from February 6th to 14th. The hotel and rooms are great. The resort is what I consider small, which is great. It's on the beach and everything is accessible. There are 5 pools and the water slides which are very nice. The grounds are very well kept, I've never see grass so green in the 20 years going to resorts. The staff is super nice - great service at the bars, restaurants and beach. The only negative comments I have are for the food. I would give it a 4 star. The buffet is good but always the same things. The A la carte were just OK. The food was never hot and 2 of the A la carte have buffet, which kind of defeat the purpose of A la carte. What was nice was that we didn't have to reserve the A la carte so we just showed up and if they had no place, we would go at another restaurant, or they would give us a "disk" which would let us know when our place was available. There was always ample room at the beach - lots of chairs and tables, which is great. The beach is perfect, however, I don't know if it's always like this there, but the water was very rough. But, who are we to complain, it was better there than back home with all the snow! Another great thing is that all the bathrooms were super clean. The staff would clean them at about every 30 minutes. All in all, I definitely recommend this resort.

Super clean - staff great - food good
We got married Feb 11, 2025. Was wonderful. Staff are amazing and really made the trip. Food was good. Resort was impeccably clean. Our room was cleaned and a new flower arrangement left every day. Staff remembered our names and jumped to make sure we could all sit together at the buffet. Can't say enough great things about the Staff. We hardly had to lift a finger. Pool service was great.

Decent resort. Beautiful beach. Just OK food.
Overall this is a decent resort. Check in was very quick and easy (maybe because we arrived midweek). Our room was ready way before check in time. We were able to get rooms in the quiet wing as from what I heard there are rooms that can be loud late at night (disco). Beach is amazing. The only thing that would make it better is if there were palapalas. But lots of beach chairs. Pool areas are clean and well maintained. Lots of beach chairs. My biggest complaint is the food. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great. We did find some great dishes in some of the a la carte restaurants. The biggest issue was the inconsistency of where to find things. It seemed like the simplest thing like where you could find butter, would not be an issue. They seemed to change the location everyday. Also, seemed to always be out of the most important things like guacamole and pico, and would take them a long time to refill. Sometimes there wasn’t even a spot for those two, which seems crazy in Mexico. We were there for the Super Bowl. They did a great job with the food and viewing venue. Huge LED wall. Wings, ribs, hotdogs, hamburgers etc. Overall, we had a great time, but this is normally not my style of resort. Beach is the best part.

A very fun time
Look I’ll be honest, the food what ok. Nothing amazing. But everything else was so great. The drinks, the pools, the beach, the customer service, everybody was so nice. Many activities for all ages. Worth the price in my opinion.
