First All Inclusive Experience
This was our first time in Mexico and we were very happy with our all inclusive hotel. What they were lacking in Ocean views they made up in entertainment. They had activities going all day and entertainment in the evening. They had a bus that went to the beach all throughout the day and was easy to use and the driver was so friendly and positive. The buffet was decent, not the best, but not the worst either. The resort and surrounding area felt very safe and secure.

Tranquil and Quaint
Because it is no beach front, this resort is quieter than most. This is in part because during the day a significant number of people are on the beach. If you are searching for very quiet, there is an adult pool where no music is played and talking is discouraged. The bathrooms have the best walk-in shower. Lots of water pressure and lots of hot water. The food and service is not nearly to the level of a Riu Palace Hotel but then you are not paying that amount either. The staff is super friendly, especially Delmonico at the bar and Olivia at the front desk.

Great Economy All Inclusive
We stayed here so we could scuba dive in the area, so we weren't concerned that the beach was a bus ride away. One thing that we got a bit confused about - the last beach bus leaves at 6.45 pm, but they will keep returning you to the resort until 9.45 pm; the bus departs from the parking lot, you'll see benches and a posted schedule. The posted schedule doesn't read so that this is clear. The resort had what we needed for our stay, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Olivia at the front desk has great English and was very helpful with explaining everything when we arrived. The buffet has good food, you'll find fruit, chips, pizza, guac, and other stuff at the snack bar in between. We weren't fans of the Steakhouse (dinner began late and took the full 2.5 hours to be served, bathrooms are key carded), but we loved Maria Bonita (delicious, went back twice). Rooms were fine, cleaning was done very well. If you want to hang by the pool and read, do some bingo and activities, hang out at the beach, bring little kids, then this is a fine resort. Or, use it as a fun basecamp for the things you're doing in Playa Del Carmen - perfect! It's just a small resort though, so if you're looking for something more glamorous with poolside drink service etc., then check out the bigger Riu resorts. It's also worth noting that this is inside a gated community. The gates affect your tour operators. We had a very bad experience with the Chichen Itza bus ride provided by destination services, and our independent scuba operator got held up with gate traffic more than once. So it's worth asking your guides if the Playacar gate is an obstacle to them, or if they have easy access.

Great value for your money.
Great resort. Food was excellent with alot of variety, something for everyone. No worries about finding an available chair, both at the pools and the private beach club. I would definitely go back.

Great spot for the money and for relaxing
We love the place, even though we did not have direct access to the beach. Having a shuttle every half an hour is a great way to have an easy access to the beach without having to pay for it or to be in the middle of constant parties on the beach. Food was great, staff was friendly, professional, and the rooms were very clean, quiet, even though they could benefit on being renovated. That did not affect our stay in anyway, because the rooms were as I said before, very clean and quiet.
