Feb 20, 2025Worst experience ever.
Worst stay ever at a RIU - rated as a 5 star barely a 2 star with everything that went wrong on our pricey 10 day stay. The only positive was housekeeping, the rest was awful. The buffet appeared to be out of food on many nights and mornings, the power went off for hours one night leaving folks stranded in the elevators. once the power went out and the food was gone that was that. We were 4 days with no hot water in our building, 5 days no cable and the staff in the sports bar was extremely rude. When I did call the front desk to enquire about the issues I was often hung up on after being given an answer that did not even address the problem at all. Fridge in room was not stocked every day and for the price we paid they could afford a few more beers , in the whole stay they left a total of 8 beers. Thats not even 1 day day for one person... We were looking for a quality chain and maybe we are still looking. We had stayed before at a RIU and were really happy and if it was 1 or two incidents we could have overlooked it but this was alot to have happen in just 10 days.

Feb 20, 2025Customer Service needs an overhaul
I have stayed several times over the years at Riu Ochio Rios due to the location. The only let down has been is that staff are rude, dismissive and don't engage especially those on the front desk/reception. This is so surprising as they are the first you meet on arrival. There is a definite need for customer service. My morning swim was met with debris on the pool. Hotel attention to cleanliness seemed to have lowered and hopefully on my next visit with my young granddaughter I will see a stark difference and will be able to leave a more positive review

Amazing stay! Don’t hesitate to come here!
This resort checks all the boxes: excellent beach, great food, nice amenities, fun snorkeling. I found the resort to be very family friendly. I also liked that there are no “marketing” people here trying to pressure you or push you to do or buy things. My family and I had an amazing time and will be recommending this resort to our friends. Our flight was delayed and the hotel accommodated us and let us keep our room which we really appreciated! Thank you Riu Ocho Rios for an amazing stay!

Awesome!
Everything was top notch. From the food, to the service, to the cleanliness. We found plenty to do on the resort as well as participating in 2 off resort excursions. I will be recommending this resort to family and friends.
