Peaceful vacation
Excellent resort for relaxation and recharging. Numerous activities and wonderful food. Very clean and inviting. Yamillsa in housekeeping kept my room spotless and Rubina in the buffet always ensured my meals were special.

Not a 5* hotel
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone! My experience was far from pleasant due to the appalling level of cleanliness through the hotel. To name a few: - Stained bedding, mould on curtains, stained towels, mouldy smell throughout the buffet hall, a dead cat was found on stairway (no member of staff took the initiative to deal with the situation), disgusting food which will make you sick& hostile entertainment staff. Save your money & book another hotel.

Loved the beaches 😎
Went on family vacation. Compared to the other 3 RIUs next door and compared to Santa Fe Los Cabos, the amenities are nicer. The beach is amazing. +Fun activities around the clock. Food is ok for an all inclusive resort. The coffee is great ❤️ also try the chocolate pastry, the chocolate taste is amazing. Yet, the service is still to be improved. service at the restaurants could be either great or terrible with a lot of attitude! The operator either doesn’t answer or hung up on you right away!! If approached by activity sellers at the beach, you can negotiate the prices. The initial prices are super overpriced for what you get. Ask questions about the activities and Google the places (ie: cenote”. If you have been to Cancun, and imagining something similar, sorry but that s not the case. Not as well organized and very different infrastructure and setting. The DR people are fun and very welcoming.

If you love mould this is perfect for you, it grows in your bags and on your clothes throughout your stay so by the time you’re ready to come home you’ll look and smell like a fluffy rotten mushroom. But that’s not all, for the lovers for being violently sick from both ends you’ll slot right in. All you have to do is spend the few thousand pounds and you too can be laid up in a lovely rotten mouldy room getting sick. And it doesn’t take very long to do so. You’ll even be sick before you get to your room as you step over the dead cats laying in pools of blood. If yourself likes to shower and wash your hands and teeth well look somewhere else, The basins are blocked so you can’t use them and also the showers don’t stay in the fixed position, so the shower just flops down and stays fires the water aimlessly against the wall. But they do have a rain head shower this can be used if you have 5 hours to stand under the shower as I’ve seen more pressure at a Sunday 5 aside friendly game. But I wouldn’t worry too much as the fact it’s all covered in thick rust that will take your mind off it. Top tip I wouldn’t raise any complaint while being there as you may be met with very hostile and aggressive behaviour from the staff, full of fake smiles I almost thought I was in a Turkish dentist To summaries don’t go Don’t go to RIU And also if you wish to raise a complaint when you get home and feel the service sold wasn’t as advertised then you’ll be brushed aside. I wouldn’t stay here for FREE This is a 2* hotel stayed in tents nicer

Very disappointed with the Riu Palace Punta Cana
We were supposed to celebrate my husband birthday at the Riu Palace July 13 but since the event planner was not willing to give me what l wanted and was very unfriendly l decided to cancel Riu palace and have the celebration at the magestic elegance. We were a group of 24 family and friends and we had a fantastic time at the Magestic Elegance. The magestic went above and beyond to make my husband birthday celebration especial. We had events for 7 days in all the restaurants and the final celebration in one the bar by the pool. The food and the decorations were amazi ng. Too bad the Riu Palace didn't offer us the same considerations. We had to come to the Riu Palace October 11 to 16 because my husband's best friend had paid for 5 nights in July for my husband's celebration and the hotel refused to refund the money. After l contacted the hotel, Mexico and Spain, they finally agreed to exchange the nights for October 11 to 16. Our other friends and myself were able to get refunds but not my Husband's best friend. A group of us decided to flight back to punta cana to accompany our friend at the Riu palace since we have stayed at the Bavaro Palace and also at Riu Palace playa del carmen. We thought this hotel had the same standards. We were wrong. We had issues the minute we got the front desk. My friend had paid his 5 days for July with a credit card that he had to cancel because it was clone and he no longer had. The hotel made him make the payment again with the new credit card and he was assured that he was going to be refunded the payment he made in May for the July vacation. We were at the hotel October 11 to 16. It is now December 18 and he had called and emailed everyone that should assist at the hotel and in Spain and he has not received the refund for the 5 nights. This is terrible customer service and a lack of empathy. The hotel is in terrible condition. The smell of mold is everywhere and overpowering. I was so sick with allergies that had to move to the 3rd floor. The pillows and bedding all have the same moldy smell. The alcohol is poor quality and the drinks are terrible. The the only thing drinkable is beer. The food was hit or miss. There were roaches in the restaurant by the beach so stay away. The pools are small and not well maintained. The beach not the best. The only good things at this resort are the staff. They try really hard to please you and give you what want. This Riu palace needs to shutdown and undergo major renovations. They need to deal with the mold in the rooms and the restaurants. They need to improve the quality of the food and the liquor they serve. The food in sport lounge is disgusting. I will never go back to the Riu Palace Punta Cana. I will be going back to the Magestic Elegance were every guest is treated like family,with respect and consideration. There some many resorts in punta cana to choose from soon no one will want come to the Riu Palace. You are a huge disappointment and your customers service is terrible. Waiting 3 months for a refund is unacceptable. How are you going to make up for the aggravation and stress you cause my friend. The hotel owes my friend an apology and compensation for all the time and money he wasted trying to get the refund.
