Apr 18, 2025Relaxing trip in the sun
Really enjoyed our trip to Panama, Playa Blanca. Beautiful beach, you can walk for a few kilometres, ocean is great, saw a few jellyfish. Our room was a little humid and the air conditioning would not go down beyond 23 degree's, but still comfortable.

Great stay in Playa Blanca
We had a great trip to RIU Playa Blanca. Ocean front pool bar side. Amenities and staff were fabulous. House keeping did a great job and entertained us with daily towel animals. Food was good, not great, we really enjoyed the "Panamanian" cuisine in the buffet restaurant.

Amazing Resort
Amazing Rui Playa Blanca Panama. Food was great. Beautiful grounds, pool area, beach area. Very clean. Staff worked tirelessly keeping everything clean in public area's and rooms. The buffet was amazing. So much selection of food & drinks. Gardeners did amazing job with landscaping. Entertainment was also excellent.

Beautiful Resort in secluded area
It was our 3rd time staying at a RIU and once again we were not disappointed. Facility is great, pools are great, beach is beautiful! We had a family room, travelling with 4, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It was huge and very clean. Not a lot in the area so very peaceful if you want it to be. Daily activities and nightly entertainment with plenty of bars including a swim-up which we took full advantage of. The restaurants are very good with plenty of options and service is outstanding. Nice part about seclusion was no vendors coming up on beach trying to sell stuff. They only had a limited number with tents on the beach nearby which you could go to if desired. Items very inexpensive! Downside was most excursions required quite a bit of vehicle time but they were very affordable and worth it. Panama is beautiful with mountains, jungle and beaches. Highly recommended!

Great Hotel
My family and I stayed at the Riu Playa Blanca during spring break in 2025, following our visit in October 2024 for my wedding anniversary. The staff was great from check-in to check-out, spanning a seven-night stay. Angie and later another housekeeper who unfortunately I forgot the name, provided us with great housekeeping service. We didn't have to call twice for anything because the staff was very attentive. The food was good, and we particularly loved some Panamanian dish specialties. However, my two issues were first the hotel location. If you're coming from the U.S., expect a two-hour commute from the airport to the hotel even though the company provides a free shuttle from and back to the airport. There is another airport located about 10 minutes or so, but it seems like it serves arrivals from other countries like Canada. My second issue was the entertainment team. I understand that they are trying their best to keep you enjoying your stay, but compared to other Riu locations, they could do better. If it wasn't for the commute, I would definitely stay there a third time. But if you are going there and you don't mind a long commute, the hotel is worth trying. Plus, having to visit the Panama Canal and other nice places inside the city was interesting.
