  Beautiful vacation

  My whole experience was wonderful. From personal touches to going the extra mile on any request we had. Staff got to know us and made it a point to come say hello. Above and beyond on our rooms. Would definitely stay here again.

  Great vaction

  We loved everything about our first Riu stay. Would recommend 10/10 food was great, drinks were excellent, and service always came with a smile.

  Riu Playa Blanca January 2025

  Another amazing trip to Panama! A special thank you to Christopher (manager) for his smiles and service. Thank you to Reuben, Lucas, Hector, RD, and the rest of adult pool bar staff for all your smiles. Thankyou to life guards and workers around the pool, once again you did not disappoint. Daniella in the buffet, we appreciate you. The staff make this a wonderful holiday. We will be back.

  Nice Resort in Panama!

  Hotel Riu Playa Blanca Our group of 14 from Ontario, Canada (Listowel, Hanover, Cargill, Wingham, Atwood and Walkerton) had a great time! Short 15 minute ride from the airport in Rio Hato Check in was organized and efficient Room 6032 was nice with a king size bed Food at the buffet had lots of selection and was pretty good Pineapple at the buffet was delicious Beach had real palm trees for shade Entertainment was enjoyable We went on the Panama City tour through Sunwing which we paid for in advance in Canadian currency Our friends arranged a private Panama City tour on a small bus which was much cheaper than the Sunwing offer even with the exchange The resort has reliable wifi You can make requests through the Riu app I used google translate on the app and translated my request from English to Spanish and that worked well We went to the Italian restaurant and most of our group enjoyed their meal. I had lasagna and it was different because they didn’t integrate the ground beef into the sauce but instead they put a layer of ground beef on top of a layer of lasagna noodles. Didn’t appeal to me because I don’t eat ground beef unless I can’t taste it. We went to the Steakhouse restaurant and the food was delicious! My husband had steak and it was a good portion and he enjoyed it. I had salmon and it was very tasty. We had brunch at the snack bar. Lots of selection. Clean and tidy! One notable difference from resorts in other countries is that the people don’t constantly ask for expect tips. We had a lovely day at the pool We had dinner at the Asian restaurant and the sushi appetizer was good. I had the crab and cream cheese app which was okay. My husband main was the pork rib and he liked it. I had the chicken and it was okay. For dessert they didn’t have what was on the menu and instead they had cheesecake which was delicious. The other option was some sort of white coloured shell filled with soft chocolate. The chocolate filling was basically chocolate icing. I could not eat it as it as it was so sweet just like icing you put on a cupcake. The pools are great some adult and some for families There is always a lot of selection at the buffet We haven’t had any rain in January which is their summer season (mid December until mid April) Winter season (late April until the end of November) it rains all the time.

  A nice hotel in an exotic area

  The five nights spent in this hotel charged us with positive energy. The room on the fifth floor, where we stayed, with a partial sea view, towards the east, was fine. The meals served at the Balboa restaurant and the beach restaurant were tasty, with many dishes to suit all tastes and delicious exotic fruits. All the hotel staff, receptionist, chambermaid showed professionalism, which denotes a rigorous management. We had a wonderful time and would definitely return to this hotel.
