A small piece of paradise
First a big thanks to everyone at the Riu Playacar for making our holiday a wonderful experience. The room and grounds were spotless, all staff members worked so hard to keep this love hotel looking fantastic. We tried all the themed restaurants and really enjoyed them all, the palms buffet restaurant was also very good, always found something good to eat. The beach area was my kind of paradise, white powdery sand and a beautiful clear warm sea, fantastic! The bar staff always greeted us with big smiles when serving our drinks. This is our third time in Mexico and again we had a blast! The Playacar is a little quieter than the Riu tequila and smaller so suited us better, just what the doctor ordered! I would like to say that we will return one day but with so many wonderful places to see, we will have to wait and see. Have already looked at other Riu hotels around the world and we will definitely be using this brand again and again. Jump in you won’t be disappointed.

Playa
Extremely clean, excellent staff everywhere in resort, wonderful food, but I wish entertainment would start at 8:30. Great location.

Great time, great value, great location
RIU Playacar hotel. Very clean, getting a little dated while being very comfortable. Excellent staff in all areas (Oscar our housekeeper is brilliant). Google this hotel and see its excellent location, on the beach with excellent pools and lots of sunbeds! It has everything anyone would want on a holiday, great food, great drinks, great staff and great atmosphere. Rooms are large and kept VERY clean! We stayed in an adjoining room, which meant a doorway between rooms. At night next door room light would shine through and we could hear their TV, thankfully it did not disturb us, but maybe some insulation could be fitted to improve this. This is the only reason for not giving rooms a 5.

3rd times a charm
Third visit in 2024. The best! From front desk to bar staff to management - lovely people and hotel. Only complaint is a few clouds one day :-).

Relaxing
The room was clean and large enough. Thank god for a/c. I liked how children’s activities and pool were on one end of the resort and we were allowed to stay in an adult area. Food was not great but was really good. We had an amazing relaxing time here.
