Nick's Trip
RIU Vallarta was, not to put too find a point on it, fantastic. That was not only my personal opinion, but those of the 17 family members travelling with us to celebrate an 80th birthday. My one quibble is that while there were full-size bottles of vodka, rum, tequila and whiskey in the room, free to use, and the fridge was stocked with beer, it was impossible to get a bottle of wine to the room. They were quite willing to empty a bottle of wine int two go cups to take up to your room, but not to give you a bottle of wine to take up to your room. But nevertheless, it was as much as you wanted to drink, served 24/7!

Hotel Riu Vallarta
We had a family trip to this hotel in January 2025 and we had a wonderful time. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The resort was fun, clean, beautiful and the food was good. My only complaint was that the restaurants were noisy. Otherwise a delightful trip and I can't wait to go back!

Riu Vallart - Great Family Vacation
The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are well kept for the most part. There were instances of bad sewage smell near the North tower. Otherwise, the outdoor areas and pools were kept clean and good condition. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The food options are OK. One of the restaurants was closed for some reason. The Asian restaurant had poor food quality. The steakhouse had long wait times, but the food was average. The burgers and salmon were good, but the steak was average. The menu needs to include a few more options. I suggest hiring a chef from Asia for the Asian restaurant to train the local staff. I suggest hiring an American chef for the steakhouse to train the local staff. The buffet was good some days and average other days. The Mexican options were OK. Make them authentic Mexican food. Don't try to 'Americanize' the menu. For Activities and live music, they were good for the most part. Here are some suggestions. You have a big screen, use it for "movie nights" instead of some cheesy 'live' performance one night per week. For sports activities, leave the pool basketball hoop outside so that people can play pool basketball more regularly. The beach volleyball courts are dangerous. There is concrete under a thin layer of sand. I saw a man hurt himself and I scraped and bruised my key when diving for the ball. One more suggestion for activities: install an outdoor basketball courts and shuffle board courts. This court can be shared by Riu Vallart and the sister resort. This will allow guests to play outdoor activities and will make your resort much more fun.

Always great.
This was our 9th visit and we’ll be back in March. Always nice to be remembered by the staff. Abel is such a friendly bartender and we absolutely adore Kenia as our evening server. Janet at breakfast knew exactly what we wanted. It did take a few days for maintenance to deal with our very noisy bathroom door.

Best trip here ever
Myself and 2 family members and friends checked in, to our surprise we got a corner room with ocean view. It was most beautiful to watch the sunset from our balcony. I have stayed here many times and always enjoyed my stay. Everything was great.
