Our Royalton Experience
The Royalton Resort is beautiful! We love the scenery. The food was good and the staff was very nice. Our butlers Kai and Brandon were the best! They went above and beyond with the service they provided us. They made our vacation stress free and enjoyable.😊

Okay and clean
Staff amazing. Food good but should have more west indian as its the West Indies. The owners need to take note, its the Caribbean not America. Let the staff be themselves and people embrace the culture. Ive been antigua many times but wouldnt come back to royalton because it lacks Caribbean culture. Staff lovely work so hard. They do everything to make you happy. The segregation on the beach with diamond is ridiculous too.

Nice place would return but could be better
Went to hotel end of October / November, Myself and wife are regular visitors to the Caribbean The room was large and cleaned everyday, we did have room overlooking the hill at rear of the property which I was disappointed with at first but in all fairness never used the balcony once. Food was ok the only complaint with the buffet was the food not really being that warm and items not being replaced quick enough , having to ask staff if there was any more. Little things like the toaster only worked on one side so had to place bread through twice if you wanted toast at breakfast. We tried the steak house Caribbean and pub all where good but service could be slow The Caribbean we found to have the nicest food. Staff I found to be great some obviously better than others but had no real complaints , I do believe a simple thank you and please goes a long way when ordering food drinks etc. The best we meet was reneshe who worked in the steak house . Beach was lovely never struggled to get sun loungers although you still had people going down early for the better ones. There is old fort on the hill which has some great views , walk to end of the beach follow path slightly in land which takes you up the path, it is very steep in some places and would recommend trainers as footwear and take water with you. I will say the hotel did not seem to busy so found it easy to book the restaurants , not sure how easy it would be if really busy. Down load the Royalton app prior to going, we found when you wake up you could book restaurants two days in advance . Only down side we booked a Resturant via the app got there but it was not open staff said it was a problem with the app !!!! When checking out there is a great complimentary shower room which you have to book ,would advise booking few days before you leave to make sure you get better slot so you can enjoy more time on beach etc. In all we had a good 10 days there and would happily return

Too rushed
What we saw of Nicaragua was cool but we were rushed in everything we did. They gave us 35 minutes to shop. Some people were upset we never stopped again to shop. Most of the day was spent driving. Most things we saw was from inside the van. I thought we would get out and walk around and go in buildings and churches but no that didn’t happen. To spend $236 a person and waste an entire day driving and being rushed through things I would have to say don’t take this tour

My opinion!
We stayed at the Royalton for 2 weeks in Oct/Nov and I must say I arrived with a lot of doubts from previous reviews on this site. Firstly, I will say that Antigua is a small island and not everything is produced on the island, things will need to be shipped in, so of course, things may run out or low, a point to remember when complaining there isn’t any of what you want, be a bit flexible! Our room was fantastic, we had a mountain view and yes it was a bit dated but cleaned daily, with clean towels and bedding frequently. The food at times was a bit basic and others fantastic, breakfast at Grazie could be described as slow or leisurely, depending on your view. We ate at all the restaurants with only the Sports Bar really coming up short of expectations. International buffet you can always find something to eat, the Caribbean Restaurant was top of our list, but also had good meals in Steakhouse and Italian. We did book diamond club and glad we did for the little extras, the DC lounge and the team there were helpful and friendly, and our butlers Bokeem and Rodwin were fantastic company and could not have done any more to help us.
