  Awesome holiday.

  Aqua fit was absolutely incredible. Jameel was awesome the bar is fantastic love the rum cant wait to come back and see everyone. Housekeeping was good and The vibe team are very friendly and charasmatic, couldnt of asked for a better time. Would definitely come back!

  Great experience

  Aquafit was awesome jameel is a great instructor and the gym is awesome! The bar is fantastic love the rum can’t wait to come back and see everyone .. Richard is awesome in the vibes team. I’ve been here back in 2022 and they have improved thank you guys so much!

  Honest - balanced review

  Honest Review of the Royalton Hotel, Antigua When we first booked our holiday at the Royalton Hotel Antigua, the reviews were mixed, but the positives seemed to outweigh the negatives. However, when we checked again just before Christmas, we were shocked and horrified by what we were reading. It was bad enough that we actually contacted our travel agent, considering whether we should change our holiday altogether. After speaking with them, we decided to take a chance—though we arrived nervous and anxious about what to expect. To our relief, our first impressions were positive. Although we arrived late and couldn’t see the whole property, we were pleased with the buffet that night and our room. As the days went on, we met some incredible people—both staff and fellow guests—who truly made our stay special. A Few Special Mentions First and foremost, a huge thank you to our wonderful butlers: the magnificent Maxwell, whose kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism were second to none, and the ever-flamboyant Coco, with her signature umbrella and infectious energy. They both played a huge role in making our stay as enjoyable as it was. A special shout-out to Richard from the Vibe Team, whose energy and enthusiasm lifted our spirits every single day. The Diamond Club breakfast staff were also fantastic—attentive, friendly, and always catering to our needs. The Hotel & Facilities The hotel itself was very clean and well-maintained. Yes, there are areas for improvement, but overall, we were impressed. The coffee shop became a firm favourite, serving excellent coffee whenever we needed it. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and exactly what we wanted, and the cleaning staff did a great job tidying it daily. We stayed as part of the Diamond Club, and for us, it was absolutely worth it. The Diamond Club pool area was fantastic, with drinks served all day long—and we must say, the drinks here are particularly strong! The entertainment team put in a great effort. If you’re expecting a West End-style production every night, you’ll be disappointed. But if you appreciate a group of passionate people giving it their all, you’ll enjoy what they have to offer. The Food This is the area where reviews seem to be the most mixed, and we understand why. While the food itself was lovely—hot, well-presented, and enjoyable—there are definitely improvements that could be made in terms of organisation and seating arrangements. Be prepared to switch to Caribbean time—dining here is a leisurely experience. If you’re expecting to be in and out of a restaurant in 45 minutes, you’ll be frustrated. Meals can take a couple of hours, but embrace it and go with the flow, and you’ll enjoy it much more. Final Thoughts Is this hotel perfect? No. Is it a great place to chill, relax, enjoy good food and drinks, and soak up the Caribbean atmosphere? Absolutely. A final note—this is a 4-star hotel, not a 5-star one. If you go in expecting pure luxury, you may be disappointed. But if you go with an open mind and realistic expectations, you’ll find a resort full of character, heart, and people who genuinely want to make your stay enjoyable. Would we come back? Yes, we would. Quirks and all, we really liked it. Thank you, Royalton Antigua!

  Gym

  The gym and classes with instructor J’amalyn were perfect, she is friendly and professional! Training machines will mach to any physical condition, gym is clean, you would be offered with towels and wate, and music! Please come to classes

  Could of been better

  Now understand what some have written on their own reviews & experiences. Our own experience..... GREAT - Location & grounds. Water sports & staff. NOT SO GREAT - Hotel - Quite dated. Rooms - Dirty floors & smell damp. Staff - Reception & buffet restaurant very rude, also heard them arguing amongst themselves in public. Buffet Restaurant - Badly managed and many residents have to stand in line to be seated yet lots of clear tables are ready outside. Restaurant Booking App - Urgent update required. Beach Sunbeds - Although towels being in place already by residents, witnessed these being taken on three occasions by residents who arrive late. These then refuse to move and management called and state that if sunbeds are left for over 15 x minutes, others are then allowed to take. Clearly all others were witnessing this and shocked on such a stupid policy! (if go to toilet, swim or lunch then your screwed). Departure - Although we had spoken to reception & concierge 3 x times, on day before departure we asked again about luggage collection and shower facilities on actual day of departure. Was then told that it had to be booked up front and more surprised as concierge then stated that its been fully booked for 2 x weeks (not one staff member told us this at any time so please be careful and check this yourselves).
