  Diamond Club Royalton Bavaro

  After being at different Royalton resorts, Royalton Bavaro is lower in status. Not all buildings are maintained the same. Swim out of building 16 water is not cleaned or at the proper water levels for the skimmers to work. Making it a haven for mosquitoes. Other building this was not a problem. The lower the building number the closer to the beach. The Diamond Club area (at checkin) is not as luxurious as other Royalton resorts. Seems like an afterthought. Though the Diamond Club Grill staff were amazing and food was delicious. Adonis the Butler goes above and beyond to make his clients happy. He was available 24/7 and always greeted you with a smile. He was the best Butler I have experienced with Royalton resorts and any other resorts. He is extremely knowledgeable and anything that was an issue was addressed immediately. He is a dedicated employee and has an outstanding work ethic.

  Okay not great

  We have visited the Royalton Bavaro twice, first in Dec 2023 and again in Jan 2025. During our first visit in 2023, we had an amazing experience, which inspired us to return. Unfortunately, after our second stay, I don’t think I would visit a third time. More details below: Cons we were approached with an offer for a free massage and breakfast in the "Diamond Experience" to showcase its benefits. However, the experience turned into a stressful and unpleasant 3 hour session with aggressive staff pressuring us to purchase the Diamond Club not allowing us to think about the offer and come back another time, the decision should be done that moment, this looks like scam to me if the product is good why the pressure to close immediately. My husband and I we do not make business under pressure so once you give the final answer with a no they become extremely rude with us. Shame on the Royalton brand for permitting such a desperate sales approach!!! Lack of staff everywhere A lot of people in the lobby doing nothing only asking you if you arrived the day before so they will offer the "free massage" and sell the diamond but other places example restaurant with not enough staff The service was better in 2013; it was easier to find a waiter and get coffee, juice, or other requests. This year, with only one restaurant open for lunch (Ocean Side) or the Marche for breakfast, we faced long waits in lines, disorganized service, and a lack of basic items like glasses, mugs, or cutlery. Party and night intretenement This year I felt the kids part at night away worst than last year, less organized and unfortunately not mutch fun. Kids club This year, my child is 4, and we planned to spend about an hour at the kids' club after lunch. However, most of the activities revolved around watching TV, with little effort to engage kids in fun or interactive activities during the day. Kids Pool The kids' pool was okay but not working properly and super cold water. Cleaning The cleaning could be improved in all aspects but it is not terrible Noise The building we stayed in this year (Building 17) was very loud due to extremely loud music at night from the neighboring hotel. Pros The Beach The beach is beautiful, with shade, comfortable chairs, and towels available. Quick Check In and check out Check-in and check out was efficient, taking only about 5 minutes. Food The food is good, the buffet has a limited variety. However, we enjoyed the taste of the dishes, especially at the Steakhouse, which was amazing. Room This year, we stayed in a Junior Suite, which we liked better than the Family Room we had in 2023. The sofabed in the Family Room was old and had an unpleasant smell. The Junior Suite was a more comfortable choice overall. The lazy river was fun Comparison with 2023 Overall, we had a way better experience in 2023. Back then, there were many restaurants open for lunch, giving us more variety and options, also more organized and not stressful. Overall Impression The hotel is big and beautiful, the beach is beautiful and clean, the food okay, cleaning acceptable, kids intretenement poor. I'd say it's decent and overall we managed to have a good time despite all described above, but I don’t believe we would return.

  Top notch

  Me and my family are so happy we booked our family trip to Royalton bavaro....... The food was excellent and so much variety. The rooms were cleaned every day and the staff went above and beyond. We did book the diamond club, the beach area was awesome and spacious, the diamond club bar and the separate breakfast area was great, we have young kids and we didn't have a hard time finding stuff for them too eat.. And the best of all was our Butler... Juan what a great guy he was so punctual, informed and just a great attitude. And the bartenders at the diamond club bar were the best always treated with the best service..... Just want to say thank you too all the people at the resort that made our trip so awesome.....

  Amazing week of sun and fun!

  I went in January of 2025 with my husband and another couple. Taxi from the airport was 40 USD for 4 people. We had booked swim out rooms NON Diamond Club (16103 and 16107) and pre-chose our room online for a fee since we wanted to be close to each other. Check in was a breeze and super quick. Our rooms were super clean and large. Neither room had a musty smell. LOVED having a swim out room to relax away from all the hustle and bustle. Our concierge asked us about booking the spa and cabana's for "free". This IS a timeshare thing so beware. Breakfast buffet was great! Luis made us the perfect omelets every day! The lazy river was fun but we did wish there were hours were the above water buckets/waterfalls were turned off so you could float along without getting water poured on your head. All good though. Main pool was great. Lots of activities during the day. The foam party was a lot of fun! There were plenty of towels and none of the normal sign in/sign out for them. We brought Stanley's with us to refill and the bartenders were happy to accommodate. Beach was lovely and sand was really soft. Download the Royalton app before you go. You can look up menus and drinks and also book restaurants when you get there. We had no issue booking what we wanted. Hunter Steakhouse was amazing. Rio was great as well! We weren't fans of Oceanside for dinner (personal preference) but loved it at lunch. Did not like the food at the beachside grill or Scores. It was just OK. Casino was small but we had fun and Wilmer the bartender kept us filled with drinks! Nightly shows were good. We booked Monkeyland through the App and we all had so much fun! I would def do it again. One day we rented a cabana and with it we received a lobster and lunch. A bottle of Vodka (Ketel One) came with it and we got some red bulls. We did tip bartenders and dinner staff accordingly. Staff all seemed to be friendly and hard working. Grounds were well taken care of. Check out was fast and since we had a late flight...we were allowed to stay and enjoy the resort and have lunch before we left. Bellhops stored our bags for us. No one in our party got sick from the food. We had seen a ton of negative reviews online for this resort before we went and did not experience anything like that. Glad we were not scared away. I am looking forward to visiting other Royalton properties in the future.

  Amazing family vacation

  We just returned from a week away and were very nervous from all the negative reviews before we left as we were not sure what to expect. We stayed in the diamond club and I don’t think would go to that resort if not diamond club. The butlers and extra services were totally worth it. Our butlers Max and Pedro were over the top amazing checking in with us multiple times during the day, bringing us towels and making dinner reservations. My daughter was preparing for exams and they would print off material and hand deliver it. I asked for a last minute birthday surprise for my daughter and they went over the top decorating our room and having light projectors so when we walked in it was like stars all on the ceiling. There was a group of 11 of us and my butlers and my mom’s butler worked together to ensure we had supper together every night. My mom and sisters butler, Adonis was also amazing helping us with a special birthday for my mom and getting a cake organized for my daughter. These guys are amazing at their jobs and made our experience excellent. My family had two swim out rooms which we really enjoyed. Also, shout out to Fernando who was the beach waiter. Our family loved his friendly smile and was always around asking us if we needed anything. I would say the food is hit or miss but usually something you can find. A la cartes definitely are better than the buffet. Overall we all really loved this resort and had a wonderful time.
