    Pretty good stay

Stayed at the Radisson for a week. The hotel had an amazing location on the beautiful beach. Close to town and the airport lots of restaurants around to go out and eat plus 2 grocery stores near by for essentials. The hotel restaurant was ok at best not a lot of fish options, The Umbrellas restaurant is tops which is only 500 meters away good vibe good price. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully kept and pretty tidy. The rooms could use some TLC. The water was not draining in the shower so opened the drain and it was full of old disgusting hair. The other thing about the room was when they came and cleaned the room they did not restock towels we are two people we used 2 towels they only replenished one. So had to call front desk and have to wait for new ones. The staff is pretty good some of them new to work on their customer service and learn to smile. But what really was a disappointment was the fact that there was something going at the convention center which is pretty much attached to the hotel. There was a bunch of young adults in orange shirts who were walking the grounds smoking pot and sitting by the pools some of the were even spitting in the pool. In the evening they were still roaming the grounds one of them even went up to a ground level room and was looking in. We also had two individuals sitting on our lounge chairs in from of our room. The other disappointment is the security, if you want to call it that as they are too busy on their cell phones to notice that people from the cruise ship take the lounge chairs that are meant for the guests on the beach there are signs indicating don’t take the chairs but they turn a blind eye to it. You pay good money to stay here and you should not have to deal with people who are non guests

    Nice hotel but….

Hotel is nice with access to the best beach in Grenada Nice grounds and overall well maintained The staff is helpful and polite The cons Security is ot the best, some sort of event was held at the convention center next door A bunch of young adults, some wearing the same orange t-shirt were hanging all around the hotel pool, smoking pot , spitting in the pool and a bit rude, and as to very late at night laying all over the long chairs of the hotel grounds in the dark not making a very easy and pleasant feeling. A total turn off

    A resort in paradise

What a wonderful resort next to the beach. Looking out to the beach within fingers reach. A taste of paradise which you see in films coming into reality. Wonderful food in restaurant at a reasonable price. The pool great to swim. A gym you can attend 24 hrs.

    Sub-par Radisson

At most I would give this hotel 2.5 stars. Not your typical standard for Radisson. The breakfast buffet is average. The beach is wonderful, but there is no cocktail service from the hotel on the beach. One of the pools (the small one) is completely falling apart while the big pool is a tropical paradise. They have a swim up bar that is also falling apart and no one is operating. Front desk never has local currency in small bills I’m lucky to get change for $50USD. The rooms are also very shabby- though some are being remodeled we were not lucky enough to get one of those. Our room was missing a dresser and night stand lights. Today I asked for a dresser and it looks like it was taken off the wood pile (see pic) they never did bring us lights. The rooms do have coffee/tea service. Dinner menu is okay, they have a variety of foods. But there is nothing open for snacks during the day. We wanted an early lunch before a 1230 tour, but no food to be found because there is only ONE place to eat. Nightly entertainment is BORING! It’s just different Caribbean bands each night. Overall this is a sub-par Radisson. If we came back to Grenada I’d try a different beach hotel .

You know you are in Grenada unlike some other hotels where you could be anywhere

I could rate this anywhere from a 2 to a 5 depending on what perspective I look at the resort in. As I view this as an old resort that started life in the 1960’s which retains local charms I have rated it based on that. There are many things that go wrong but it suits the place and the staff do their best to fix it. To start with the hotel is old but there seems to be a constant process of renovation which is great as long as you accept that work needs to be done. If you want to retain a low rise (ground and one floor above) then this is in my view a small price to pay. Our beachfront room was exactly that, patio facing the beach about 5 meters away behind a white picket fence. When there is high rainfall the patio floods a bit but the housekeeping team will clean it as many times as asked, and while they do they re-check the room. Keisha and Korona looked after our dated room perfectly. Everything clean, just a bit dated. The hotel has two pools but with the ocean next to you they are fairly empty and you can shower off the salt before heading back to a sun bed in the quiet grounds (on cruise ship days the beach just gets too busy for us) so the hotel is an oasis of calm. Breakfast is a buffet and has a fruit selection, egg station and a huge selection of local items. Some may (will) say that it is not international enough, I don’t think it needs to be, it’s in Grenada. The dinners are a small a la carte menu or on some days a buffet. The value was far better than we expected in a resort but the food was wholesome rather than gastronomic. Joseph runs the kitchens and is out every day talking to guests, getting feedback and taking it in. He is obviously working to budgets and this is not a 5 star hotel so I think he pretty much gets it right. If you want full 5 star then you will need to get your wallet out as top food is expensive in Grenada. All in all we found the food very acceptable. It is all served by an excellent team and we were lucky enough to be served by Latoya and Kendra. Always a smile and always apologetic if it took a few minutes when busy. So, an old hotel both in terms of the building and its provenance, the most amazing setting in the middle of Grand Anse beach (which is amazing apart from on cruise ship days when it could be just about anywhere), wholesome local food at a reasonable price, clean but old rooms in a nicely spread out resort, good pools even if showing their age and local staff that wanted to help us. We were in Grenada, we knew it and we enjoyed it. PS great scuba dive shop on site run by Adrian
