Nice beach and room but poor service
We recently stayed at the Sands. The physical plant and room itself was fine — we particularly liked the screened in deck. However the overall experience was marred by untrained and indifferent service. First, although we were charged a 10% service fee, housekeeping only showed approximately 1/2 of the days. When they did, it was pretty subpar. We were left with remnants from the previous guest: an unemptied pot of coffee and a half-consumed bottle of wine. Used towels were typically not replaced. This carelessness seemed to reflect the broader attitude of the staff. Any issues or requests were met with little more than a shrug. For example, during two separate days, there was a several-hour interruption in water service. While this was not likely the hotel’s fault, the staff offered no explanation, solutions, or even sympathy — just more shoulder-shrugging. We waited almost an hour for our lunch (chicken sandwiches) to arrive at Hemingway’s. After arranging to use a catamaran, the staff person was a no-show. Once engaged in conversation, it seemed that most staff members were nice people. It was our sense that they were untrained and not always happy to be there. While hotels like the Ritz are known for inculcating customer service excellence, the Sands appears to be content with the shoulder shrug. Once you factor in the additional charges for service fee and resort fee, the Sands costs approximately the same as superior resorts, such as Seven Stars, where we have stayed previously. We would recommend that you stay somewhere other than the Sands.

Over priced and not good value in Turks
I had high expectations for The Sands on Grace Bay, but unfortunately, my stay was a huge disappointment. I booked my room nine months in advance, expecting a smooth check-in and a quality experience. Instead, I was met with a late check-in, only to find out that they had given me the wrong room. At a resort that operates on a first-come, first-served basis, I should have received one of the best available rooms—especially given how far in advance I booked. When I finally got into my room, it was far from hygienic. There were cobwebs, dust, window stains and an overall lack of cleanliness that made me question the resort’s housekeeping standards. On top of that, there was constant construction noise from an adjacent lot, making it nearly impossible to relax during the day. To make up for the late check-in, the hotel manager Robyn offered a bottle of wine a complete insult, a completely inadequate gesture considering I was paying $800+ per night for this subpar experience. At that price, they should have at least comped a night, as this was a clear failure on their part. I was expecting a luxury experience and instead got a stay filled with inconveniences, unclean conditions, and noise. If you’re considering booking here, be aware that advance planning doesn’t guarantee you’ll get what you paid for. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this resort to others.

The Sands at Grace Bay Amazing
This was the first trip for my wife and I to visit Turks and Caicos. The Sands at Grace Bay was the perfect resort for us. Check in was seamless and the front desk staff was very warm and welcoming offering us rum punch upon our arrival. The resort is designed with convenience and accessibility in mind. There are six different buildings for guests on premises. The resort is an all suite property and ours was in the building closest to the beach, a big plus. The Sands has a private beachfront with palapa style tents and lounge chairs. There are plenty of “setups “ to accommodate all guests. We beached all day for three days and never felt crowded. There is plenty to do in terms of water sports. They have staff that will get you started with paddle boarding, kayaking, and sailing. The restaurant, “Hemingways”, has a decent menu. Everything tasted great, except that my wife was unhappy with her breakfast fruit platter on day two. Possibly a fluke. Overall, this was a great stay. We plan to come back to Turks next year and will definitely book The Sands at Grace Bay for our return. Thank You Sands at Grace Bay!

Good in parts
Good in parts. Reception was good. Apartment was comfortable and adequate. Staff were friendly, but service was inconsistent, with some real stars and some real ‘space fillers’ (eg: beach and pool manager). Gardens and infrastructure was generally well maintained

Girls trip
Upon arrival we were greeted with two beautiful smiles at the front desk and greeted with cool face cloths And a rum punch drink absolutely delicious and refreshing ! Check in was easy and seamless. Our room was perfect for our occasion two bedrooms two baths kitchen (a little outdated missing a few utensils stove could use updating) but perfect as we only used the morning upon departure The Dining room and living room, were comfortable and a breathtaking view of the ocean location, location, location! Just a few steps from the room to the beach, walking past luscious greens, hot tubs, and pools.
