Jan 22, 2025Pretty Good Experience - Awful Customer Service from Management
The Good: it felt safe; the front line staff were lovely; the food was okay to very good depending on where you ate (the restaurants were very good and the buffet was fine); the location is beautiful; the room was clean. - The Okay: elevators took a long time and several were out - this wasn't a huge issue but account for it when timing things; the property is quite dated, even by developing world standards; the room was musty. - The Bad: multiple people in and around the lobby, interrupting guests trying to sell them a product or service/tour (not what you want when you pay that kind of $) if you ignore them they leave you alone but still. We were literally intercepted by someone trying to sell us tours between check-in and our room - 30 seconds into the stay! The LAST thing you want after a day of travel! Not sure if that's a standard practice in Cancun, but it was very off-putting. - The Terrible: when we were waiting for our transport back to the airport, paint started raining down on us and our personal belongings as a result of work in the lobby and wind! It got in our hair, on our bodies, on our clothing, accessories, phones and luggage. I notified someone at the desk who went to address it but couldn't stick around to see what unfolded because we had to make our flight. When I returned home I was able to get most of the paint out, but several of our bags and a pair of pants remained splattered with white paint. When I reached out to Seadust the day after my return regarding compensation for the damaged items I couldn't remove the paint from (nothing regarding travelling internationally covered in paint), they first ignored me and then they apologetically and politely re-routed me to Expedia after I told them I wasn't going to let this go. This happened in THEIR lobby to THEIR paying guests and they're referring the guests to Expedia!? All I asked for was them to please contact me directly via email about replacing the few items I couldn't remove paint from. I'm still waiting for some kind of response - I'll update this review if suddenly the Seadust, acknowledges my request for communication instead of shedding me to the travel site (I still can't get over that). ***UPDATE*** someone responded to me directly - which I do appreciate - and offered me an upgrade the next time I stay there (which I don't plan on doing). So, if I agree to spend more of my $ with them, they'll give me a slightly better room as compensation for my damaged belongings. It's better than no response, but not by much. - If something unfortunate doesn't happen to your personal belongings/you while you're there (and let's be honest, it's unlikely that you'll get rained on by paint) then you'll have a good to very good stay. Just know that if you do run into an issue that could cost the hotel $ - in this case literally a couple hundred $USD - you'll SOL.

Jan 20, 2025Great Family Experience Overall! Perfect for the price point.
I was extremely nervous about our after reading some of the recent reviews. However, our stay was fantastic overall. Things we loved: - The food was fantastic. Our kids always found food at the buffet. We ordered room service several times, which the kids enjoyed. We tried all the restaurants and our favorites were El Maguey and Florencia. We were also happy with our drinks. Cesar at Kilimanjaro is the best bartender! - Rooms were spacious and the layout was perfect for our family of four with the bunked area. Lots of closet space. Overall clean and never seen any bugs. - We spent several hours each day at the pools and they always had activities happening (Zumba, water polo, parades etc.). The kids also loved the waterpark area. - The evening entertainment was amazing every night! - Beach was spacious with the adjacent hotel closed and was kept clean. Improvements: - Our beds were rock solid and my hips were SORE every morning. - Evenings were loud due to the design of the hotel (we slept with white noise each night which we don’t mind). - One out of two of our elevators were out of service our entire stay and it felt like we spent a lot of time waiting for an elevator. - Spa, Fun/Sports bar, and recreational facilities were all closed for upgrades. - The Infinite Club sales representatives are aggressive and you have to be assertive to avoid being tricked into an hour long sales pitch (promises of kids toys and exclusive breakfasts etc.) Overall we were very satisfied with our stay, especially with the ages of our children (5 and 8). If you have been to dozens of All Inclusives, have refined your preferences, or pay close attention to detail, this may not be the place for you. But for the price point, we feel it’s an excellent value!

Great place!
Great views, great restaurants, easy access to everything. Great food and restaurants love the no reservation! Woukd definitely go back! I woukd definitely go back! But pool is busy with kids, may need more chairs. Or adult area with no splashing! Parents don't watch there kids

The staff is top notch! When they found out I was travelling solo they went out of their way to make me feel as comfortable as possible. The beach is clean, the view is fantastic, the amenities are clean and in good working order. I would highly recommend staying at the Seadust. I have been twice and plan on returning with my family in April.

People coming up to you multiple times a day is the opposite of relaxation. People Come on vacation to Relax and be left alone not to be bombarded by people trying to sell you something every couple Hours. It was not an enjoyable experience worst vacation we’ve ever took. Food was always cold, baby area was closed nothing for our child to actually experience the kids stuff is for toddlers not baby’s. Online it seemed like there was a children’s pool and baby area but those areas were for Older children. Will not be coming back regret this experience
