Gorgeous resort with amazing food and incredible service. We loved the food and drinks, with the poolside BBQs being a highlight. The beach and pool always had loungers available and clean towels were always ready. The staff were so helpful and kind. A big thank you to Leidy, our concierge. Leidy was an incredible help in fixing some issues with our airline that had nothing to do with the hotel. Leidy went above and beyond and was so friendly and professional. We also had a great time paddle boarding with Carlos and swimming with the turtles with Gabriel and Isabel. An amazing experience. I recommend doing the hydrotherapy session and couples massage at the spa. It was a wonderful experience.

Stop second guessing, and just book the dang vacation!
If you want a vacation where you can just completely relax and enjoy peace and quiet, This is the place for you. From the moment you get out of the shuttle to the point you get out by the ocean or poolside people are there to help with any need that you have. The staff is incredible at secrets, and the food is delicious. Me and my wife were celebrating our 10th anniversary and are so happy that we picked this resort. We will definitely be going back.

Amazing resort and incredible staff! Secrets Akumal 10/10
We had the BEST time at Secrets Akumal. You will be hard pressed to find something not right with this resort. Everything was incredible. The food is amazing, the resort is stunning and the beach is incredible. It was a truly amazing week. Entertainment team : we had so much fun with the entertainment team - special shout outs to Rene, Gabriel, Max, Abrahim and Carlos for so much fun with lots of pool and beach volleyball, pool basket ball and the crazy games!! thanks also Andrea for a wonderful bike ride tour and guacamole class, and Gina for a really fun movie quiz and Isabel for fun classes. Reception: special mention to Diego who helped me get some antibiotics ordered and delivered, much appreciated. Pool team: huge thanks to Israel for always being so happy and helpful with drinks and food everyday! Asian restaurant: thank you Adolfo for a wonderful Teppanyaki experience! The staff especially are wonderful and really made our trip. The servers in all restaurants, breakfast and pools were incredibly hospitable and worked super hard - as do the ground staff, bell boys etc. You see everyone working so hard in the heat and always happy to say hello to you. We will definitely return to Secrets Akumal. We had a great experience and was faultless in our eyes.

Sun, Sea and Cenotes
Not 48 hours back in the UK and already I am desperate to get back to Secrets Akumal. I'm not one for writing reviews but I felt that anyone debating whether or not visit.. YOU MUST! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a glass of prosecco, checked - in and given an overview of the hotel and restaurants by our concierge, Diego. Off to a good start! Anyone travelling from the UK/ Europe knows that with the time difference, you're up early the next day! Walking along the crystal clear waters of the hotel beachfront of Akumal (Mayan for turtle - quick clue) you get to see how beautiful it is. The hotel offers a snorkelling trip just off the beach to the see the turtles. Its not IF but WHEN... its incredible so see in their natural environment and worth booking! You can grab a snorkelling kit from the hotel also and venture out on your own if you want to chance it. In the evenings, we sampled the many restaurants but calling out Portofino (Italian) and Bordeaux (French) as our favourites. If you go for the steak grill - wear your big pants as they are pretty big and cooked amazingly! There are an array of shows throughout the week and live music in the lobby bar if you want to chill. Desires however, the club, for the one bight we could manage to go BIG! Throughout or 9 days, we enjoyed every moment. But for us, what makes a hotel is the people. Everyone of the resort team made the stay for us unforgettable. A HUUGE call out to the entertainment team down at the activity pool. Maximillion, Reme, Ibrahim, Gina, Andrea, Isabella and of course, Gabriel! My partner and I jumped in, quite literally, to everything on offer. Volleyball, Pool Volleyball, Crazy Games, Guacamole sessions and of course, the pool bar! Shout out to Israel on the pool service who kept our drinks full! We had such an incredible time and will certainly be back in the future ! Thank you Secrets Akumal Team!!

Love Secrets Akumal
This was our second time at Secrets Akumal! We really enjoyed our first time and the second time was even better. We have been to many resorts throughout Mexico and have never done the same one twice so I think that speaks for itself. The grounds are beautiful, the food and drinks are great, the staff is always helpful (loved our concierge for building 5 Diana). The beach is superb. It was our anniversary trip and they made us feel special on multiple occasions - the sign on our door, waiters at the restaurants knowing it was our anniversary and bringing out special deserts, etc.
