    Big Disappointment

I would give it a zero if I could! Nothing at the resort matched the pictures and descriptions, a huge misrepresentation of what the resort offers. I will not be back! The rooms were dirty, smelled of sewer gas, and lacked any sort of described amenities. Not enough restaurants to handle the guests, and food quality was average at best, nothing exciting!

    Family Vacay (adults only)

We had a nice time staying at this hotel as a nice relaxation vacation get away. We went diving one day and rented a jeep to drive around the island. All of which staff at the hotel helped us coordinate. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and kind, specifically the restaurant/bar staff and entertainment staff including Miguel and Arbey. Arbey is part of the entertainment team and was always going out of his way to make conversation, make entertainment and activities fun and make sure guests were having a good time. Arbey made our vacation very enjoyable!

clean place, nice bar, but the place is not for foodies. Only saw one show in 5 nights

Bar was good and never a long line, clean resort,, there is no hot tub like they say. Food was not at all good. really room service is your best option there. Its great place to not gain too much weight at. Had a good gym with unappealing food so it worked out for us. I missed the entertainment offered and only saw one fire show. So we had nothing to do at night

    Dump.

I don’t like to write a negative review. But this “resort” is a dissatisfying dump. Starting with front desk customer rude service to the pools, to our room. And even worse, the food. Our room, did not have hot water, and a horrible stench coming from the bathroom drains. Also, it was very worn with broken furniture. We saved our pool towels because there were never any clean ones available. The “preferred club” is the worst part of the place. It is all so very decrepit, an eyesore, and I don’t believe they upkeep or maintain the property whatsoever. If you are used to Secrets with the true 5 star treatment tropical vacation you’ll be so truly disappointed. For the 2 or 3 employees, that were friendly and hard working, we thank you. I would think Secrets would be ashamed to put their name on this one.

    The old Secrets is gone

My wife and I have gone to the Secrets Aura resort 4 times. Unfortunately this time was the worse experience we have ever had. The food was good, the WiFi was good and the room was ok. The furnishings of the room looked brand new but the problem was that there were no shelves in any of the cabinets to put our clothes. The big issue was that the service went down hill. When we checked in the receptionist hurried us through the check in process so another employee could give us a sales pitch to get us to buy into the Preferred Club. The waiters and waitresses always seemed in a hurry to take our order and get us through our meal. We had a difficult time getting clean towels and we could not get any one to get us a coffee pot that worked. All of this seems to an issue of management not training their employees. Hopefully this will change but I am not wiling to take the risk and book and another stay.
