Quiet Beautiful Hideaway
We knew the resort at this time was a "soft opening", meaning it still has work to do from past hurricanes. We got a good deal for 7 nights. When we arrived, the lobby was underwhelming compared to other resorts we visited, but, the grounds were immaculate with many variety of Palm trees and flowering bushes, well kept. The room was large and clean with a large balcony to sit overlooking the gardens. Very peaceful, quiet resort with only 30% capacity. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We loved the 1 KM long sandy beach and the pool was huge with daily pool aerobic with the funny Yvon teaching. He was great. There was always a lounger to be found, many empty. It is not a place you can just walk into town. You will need a taxi. We hired a driver for 6 of us for 6 hours. He took us all over the Island and even let us hang out wherever for a couple hours at a time, while he waited. There is not much entertainment here, 8 - 10 PM nightly with a duo or single act outside the lobby bar area. The inside of the resort hallways still need new flooring, but painting has been done and it is very clean. The TV in the rooms are difficult to navigate and didn't work sometimes. There is also a switch no one is told about that if you press it, you will not get housekeeping service. It's by the bedside night table. The food was really good at all restaurants, although, not a big variety of choices. The buffet Marketplace where we had breakfast and lunch had a good variety of food. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend this resort.

Laid Back Resort
It was a "soft opening" only 30% occupied as the resort is still under renovations inside due to past hurricane. Saying that, the room was spotless, large balcony, good size bathroom with separate shower. The grounds were immaculate and had several varieties of palm trees. The beach is stunning as the pictures, I'm told approx. 1 km long. The resort is quite secluded and you will not be walking into town. We hired a driver for 6 hours (6 of us) and he took us where we wanted, dropped us off and waited. It was a great way to see the Island and have a break from lying in the sun. Food was good at all the restaurants. Not a big selection, but always found something we liked. Buffet breakfast in morning had a large variety including a chef cooking eggs, omlettes. There is one beach bar, great staff, everyone on the resort was very friendly. Keep in mind, the price for this secrets is much lower because of the work still need. For example, the flooring inside the hotel looks like some kind of underlay, not flooring, with paint on it from painting the interior. There is not much entertainment, 8 - 10 PM they have a duo or single act. It's pretty quiet if that is what you are looking for. Not a long walk to beach. Everything is pretty compact. I definitely recommend this resort. If you want more of a party atmosphere, stay in town close to the airport. Lots of beach bars and resorts there too, but it's a very crowded beach there. Yvon our pool aerobics instructor is hilarious. He is there everyday.

2.5 out of 5 ... quiet and relaxing getaway but nothing exciting on the resort.
I had a pleasant enough stay at the Secret Resort and Spa, but I wouldn’t consider it a top-tier experience. The resort is quiet, which was great if you’re looking for peace and relaxation, and it definitely caters to an older crowd—think 60+—so that vibe may not be for everyone. The biggest disappointment was the pool bar being closed during my stay. It would have been nice to have that option for some relaxation by the pool, especially in such a tranquil setting. Another frustration was the iguanas freely swimming in the pool without any apparent efforts to keep them out. I wasn’t expecting a zoo, so this was a bit off-putting. The nightly entertainment was virtually nonexistent, which made the evenings feel a little dull. If you’re someone who enjoys activities or entertainment after sunset, you might find it lacking here. When it comes to dining, there were only two restaurants available each night, and sometimes the wait for a table was pretty long. This felt a bit inconvenient, especially when you're looking to enjoy a nice meal after a day by the pool. That being said, the beach and pool area were nice. There were always loungers available, so it wasn’t hard to find a spot to unwind. I really wanted to order room service, but there’s no phone or tablet in the room to make that possible. It felt like a strange oversight for a resort of this caliber. Overall, the resort has potential but is a bit behind in terms of amenities and the overall guest experience. For a peaceful, low-key getaway, it works, but don’t expect much in terms of excitement or service.

Perfect Beach Resort for a Relaxing Vacation
After seeing a couple of negative reviews I felt the need to share my experience. My wife and I had a wonderful relaxing week here. The food was excellent and in fact exceeded our expectations. The room was very good and cleaned daily. The pools, including our swim out pool was cleaned daily. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I did not have a negative interaction all week. The setting for the hotel is fantastic. It is surrounded by hills and the beach was really nice with clean soft sand.

Ruined my birthday
I’ve been to another Secrets resort and it was phenomenal. I was very disappointed with this location. I reserved a swim out preferred room. The room was unavailable upon arrival until 8 pm the following night. The preferred accommodation that were promised weren’t available. Food was limited. The conditions of the resort is giving shut it down and start over. The phones in the room never worked. The staff blamed us saying we didn’t know how to operate it. Saying you have 24 hour concierge and room service when in real life was over at 10pm.
- AdvisoryDuring phase one, The Hotel upgraded guest rooms, buildings, the main pool, and Market Café. Starting May 30, 2025, the resort will temporarily close for phase two renovations, including room updates, restaurant enhancements, public area refreshes, and hydrotherapy circuit upgrades at the spa.
