Feb 21, 2025Disappointed—Not the Same Secrets Experience
This was our third visit to Secrets Montego Bay, and unfortunately, it did not live up to our past experiences. On our previous trips, the resort was busier, but the staff was much more attentive. This time, with fewer guests, service noticeably declined. One of the biggest disappointments was the absence of the "jerk man" who used to come through daily—something we looked forward to. The Jerk Hut is just not the same. Another major letdown was the cabana rental. We paid over $100 expecting a premium experience, only to receive little to no service. To make matters worse, we later realized that guests who didn’t pay for cabanas were receiving drink service anyway. It felt like a waste of money, especially since this was supposed to be our relaxing last day. The food at the restaurants was mediocre at best, and some were closed. Room service was a disaster—long wait times, cold food upon arrival, and missing items (with no desire to wait another 1.5 hours for corrections). Our room was clean, but the turn-down service with our preferred status was underwhelming—the attendant mainly just asked if we needed towels. Service at the preferred lounge was hit-or-miss. Some staff members were great, but others seemed more interested in chatting with coworkers than serving guests. However, we do want to highlight Everett at the beach/pool bar—he was friendly, attentive, and one of the few bright spots of our trip. In the past, we always left Secrets Montego Bay excited to return. This time, we’re strongly considering other options for our next vacation.

Not worth the money I paid.
Overall the resort was fine but there were a few things I would like to mention to those considering this place. - Plenty of dining options; however, you have to wait for a long time to get a table. There was usually a 2-hour wait for Bordeaux and Portofino. The quality of the food at the buffet was great, though. - My room was full of mosquitos, which I’m allergic to. I had to request the staff to spray my room 4 times before someone actually did it. - We had a rain storm and there was water dripping from the elevator. - Staff was friendly; however, there were constantly trying to sell you stuff such as massages and “soft sales” every time we asked a question they tried to get us to commit to something else. They will give you $40 discount on massages but don’t fall for the trick as they won’t tell you that a massage actually costs almost $400!

Beautiful hotel. Beautiful beach. Rooms are beautiful and clean. Beds are comfortable. Food and drinks are amazing. This is by far the friendliest resort I have ever been at. Staff was welcoming, continuously smiling and so helpful. Special shout out to Heidy Collado. She helped us enormously when we were dealing with sunwing delays. Sunwing had horrible service and we were not informed of anything for days and although not her job, Heidy went above and beyond to accommodate me and my mom and other passengers. And special thanks to all the employees we dealt with during our stay- everyone was wonderful.

Butler Service Fantastic
The resort was fantastic for all an inclusive adult only. Our Butler service was fantastic. The best team that we have ever had on a resort. Darwin and Tajae were always there to make sure that we were happy and if we needed anything. Wanted to take them home with us.

Enjoyable but....
The location is excellent but we were disappointed with the attitude of some of the staff, particularly one lady who chose to raise her voice at us on the beach and coffee shop staff who bordered on rude. We had three rooms and whilst one was serviced well ours was not properly restocked.
