Definitely would like to come back if price was right
Considering resort is closing for renovations was pleased overall with resort for the price we paid Loved the staff from bartenders, waiters & especially Belinda who was managing in the restaurants for dinner, she was very accommodating.

Some very good moment and some disappointments
Staff here are doing a fantastic job with very little. No sports bar, pool bar closed, entertainment ends at 10. Lobby bar closes at 11 and there is nothing to do.seaweed an issue for two days. Not cleared up. Food was better than expected but choices are limited. Exception is the Asian and it’s just bad. Steakhouse only one night in 7. Beach was nice. Most staff are excellent and go way beyond especially Melinda in olio. Drinks were good. Elisha at the lobby is a perfectionist on cocktails. Lack of food variety, only three choices at dinner on the menu that never changes and the lack of evening entertainment/bar is enough for me to not return

Disappointing Experience at Secrets St. Maarten Resort & Spa "Keep Secret's Resort a Secret "
I had high expectations for my brother's 50th birthday celebration at Secrets St. Maarten, and unfortunately, it did not meet any of them. We traveled with three other couples, hoping for a luxurious, memorable experience, but instead, we were left underwhelmed and frustrated. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt more like a budget hotel along the NJ shore than a high-end resort. If the goal was a no-frills, non-luxury vibe, they definitely succeeded. The front desk staff was unhelpful, and it felt like the blind were leading the blind. They seemed disorganized and indifferent, which was the complete opposite of the warm welcome we anticipated. The food at the resort was incredibly disappointing. We found it to be consistently bad, which forced us to leave the resort for lunch and dinner every day. When we tried to relax by the pool or beach, the service was comical. We had to constantly flag down staff for drinks, and it felt like an endless chase to get attention. Even worse, they ran out of towels mid-day, despite the resort being far from full. One of the most frustrating aspects was the lack of extra services. Requests for basic things like extra pillows were met with excuses and refusals. It felt like asking for something extra was a burden, which is the last thing you expect at a resort of this caliber. Overall, the experience was incredibly disappointing. What should have been a special celebration turned into a hassle. The lack of hospitality and poor service made us question whether we’d ever return to St. Maarten. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the overall guest experience. Sadly, I cannot recommend this resort based on our stay.

Quiet Beautiful Hideaway
We knew the resort at this time was a "soft opening", meaning it still has work to do from past hurricanes. We got a good deal for 7 nights. When we arrived, the lobby was underwhelming compared to other resorts we visited, but, the grounds were immaculate with many variety of Palm trees and flowering bushes, well kept. The room was large and clean with a large balcony to sit overlooking the gardens. Very peaceful, quiet resort with only 30% capacity. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We loved the 1 KM long sandy beach and the pool was huge with daily pool aerobic with the funny Yvon teaching. He was great. There was always a lounger to be found, many empty. It is not a place you can just walk into town. You will need a taxi. We hired a driver for 6 of us for 6 hours. He took us all over the Island and even let us hang out wherever for a couple hours at a time, while he waited. There is not much entertainment here, 8 - 10 PM nightly with a duo or single act outside the lobby bar area. The inside of the resort hallways still need new flooring, but painting has been done and it is very clean. The TV in the rooms are difficult to navigate and didn't work sometimes. There is also a switch no one is told about that if you press it, you will not get housekeeping service. It's by the bedside night table. The food was really good at all restaurants, although, not a big variety of choices. The buffet Marketplace where we had breakfast and lunch had a good variety of food. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend this resort.

Laid Back Resort
It was a "soft opening" only 30% occupied as the resort is still under renovations inside due to past hurricane. Saying that, the room was spotless, large balcony, good size bathroom with separate shower. The grounds were immaculate and had several varieties of palm trees. The beach is stunning as the pictures, I'm told approx. 1 km long. The resort is quite secluded and you will not be walking into town. We hired a driver for 6 hours (6 of us) and he took us where we wanted, dropped us off and waited. It was a great way to see the Island and have a break from lying in the sun. Food was good at all the restaurants. Not a big selection, but always found something we liked. Buffet breakfast in morning had a large variety including a chef cooking eggs, omlettes. There is one beach bar, great staff, everyone on the resort was very friendly. Keep in mind, the price for this secrets is much lower because of the work still need. For example, the flooring inside the hotel looks like some kind of underlay, not flooring, with paint on it from painting the interior. There is not much entertainment, 8 - 10 PM they have a duo or single act. It's pretty quiet if that is what you are looking for. Not a long walk to beach. Everything is pretty compact. I definitely recommend this resort. If you want more of a party atmosphere, stay in town close to the airport. Lots of beach bars and resorts there too, but it's a very crowded beach there. Yvon our pool aerobics instructor is hilarious. He is there everyday.
