Could have been a good time.....
Visit Jose and Victor at Olio. The best restaurant, hands down!!! Everything would have been nice to very nice except one issue and the management basically blew off my concerns plus it took me two nights to get the opportunity to discuss my concerns as the first time I attempted to reach a manager they were busy (which is understandable) I was told they would contact me within 30-45 minutes so I sat in my room waiting to discuss my concern and no one contacted me (which is unacceptable) . The 2nd night I went back and found a manager to share my concerns but the "solution" was far from a solution and was basically a total blow off to me and my family.

It was an experience to remember.
Here’s a few tips for the woke traveller. You are in a foreign country. Bring health insurance, don’t gripe if they don’t speak your language. Learns theirs. Lord. The hotel doesn’t control the weather. It rains in December. If you are from Canada, stop whining like a three year old because they don’t serve soft serve ice cream. And now moving on. I wanted to take a moment to share a review of our honeymoon at Secrets of the Vine Cancun. First and foremost, the resort is absolutely beautiful, having been refurbished in 2020 and again in 2022 after the hurricane. I must admit, I was a bit embarrassed by some of the comments from fellow Canadians I read beforehand. Complaints about the rain, the temperature, the beach conditions, and even the staff's English proficiency seemed trivial. Here’s my impression of Secrets of the Vine: the staff were truly wonderful—from the cleaners who kept our room spotless to the chefs who prepared our delicious meals, and the bartenders who served us amazing drinks. We were genuinely in awe. Since we don’t often indulge in vacations like this, it took us a while to save up, making the experience even more special. While we thoroughly enjoyed the resort, I do have a couple of constructive criticisms. Yes, there were upsell attempts right from check-in, with offers to join the preferred guest list. When they asked about upgrading, I simply inquired about the price, politely declined, and moved on. It was straightforward. The next day, we encountered a more aggressive sales pitch for a membership in the Hyatt family, which lasted about two hours. After considering multiple payment options, we ultimately declined again. I understand it’s a business, and they’re trying to make a profit, but it can be a bit overwhelming, also. We didn’t indulge in the spa or the meals that came with an extra cost. Spending $250 for a 55-minute massage seemed excessive, especially since the staff likely doesn’t see that full amount. Even with the extensive discounts we received, it was still beyond our budget. We did go on an excursion—zip-lining—which was a blast! They took plenty of photos since we weren’t allowed to bring our phones, it was a safety issue they explained. At the end of the day, we were offered the photos for $120 us, but we declined. We even tried to negotiate for the digital photos, which were $50 for three pictures, again we declined. I mention this because the zip-lining adventure was offered through the resort for $186 per person. We spoke to guests from other resorts who paid only $90 or $100 if they took a taxi. As I said, it’s a business, and everyone is trying to make a profit. However, not everyone who walks through the door has an endless supply of cash. On a brighter note, we made it a point to tip generously, as the staff worked incredibly hard. Tipping is common for us in Canada, but it felt especially meaningful here in Mexico. All in all, we had a wonderful time, filled with beautiful memories and plenty of photos of the resort to cherish. Tomorrow, we’ll be returning to Nova Scotia just before Christmas, grateful for our experience and the amazing people we met along the way.

Great time during December
Very helpful staff. Clean place. Since there is no kids at this resort, very quiet. Plenty of entertainment. Buffet was good. Breakfast staff very nice, and they don't expect tips. I'm sure they appreciate all the tips given. I have been to other places where they expect tips be given, not here.

A great vacation!!
Secrets the Vine Cancun far exceeded our expectations. We had a great time! Everything from the staff to the service, food and drinks, room, views, pools and the beach were top notch. Bluewater Grill is among the best steakhouses we have ever been to. A special word for the staff - we were touched by the care, enthusiasm and cheerfulness with which they served us each time. Highly recommended!
