New resort still working on getting things right. Very average food and below average entertainment.
They have several pools to choose from. There was supposed to be a Preferred pool but it was so packed I can't believe everyone there was Preferred, no one was checking.

The best resort I have stayed at would definitely recommend and would definitely go back worth every penny. The food and workers made this an amazing place to be.

Won't be a Secret for too long
This has been a place we wanted to visit since we hear about their opening in the fall of 2023. The resort is located 45 minutes from the Punta Cana airport. It is the biggest property in the area. It has 668 rooms and 8 restaurants. The property is massive and the rooms are quite spacious. We got a partial ocean view room with a nice view of the pool. The gym is one of the best I've seen at any property and there was time to squeeze in a few workouts. We did not get to eat in all the restaurants, but our favorite was Tierra, with a varied selection of South American dishes and a great decor and ambiance. The Coco Cafe s open 24 hours and they serve great frappes and cold coffees. The only thing we could not enjoy was the beach area. The entire area and the part of the sea were covered in massive amounts of sargassum and this year in particular seems to be a record amount not only in Punta Cana, but many parts of the Caribbean. The hotel had 6 workers constantly cleaning the beach plus two machines collecting the algae. We hope to return in a different time of the year to see it and enjoy it better. Special thanks to Rosanna and Estrella at the Coco Cafe for being so nice and joyful every time we went for our coffees or ice creams, and also to Reina, the hostess at the Market Cafe who made us feel very welcomed each morning for breakfast.

I had a delightful stay and the staff was AMAZING 11/10
As a solo traveler i had the best stay at this resort. I felt safe all the time, the resort is just beautiful , the food AMAZING, they have many activities on the resort during the day. The activities at night were a little bit quiet for my taste, but it was still nice if you want to chill and unwind. The staff was soooo nice, they were all helpful, nice , kind they were the best part of my stay. Shout out to Rainer who was working at the beach club always so helpful, professional and nice , it's such pleasure to be around such amazing staff. Shoutout as well to Josefa , and to Yaquelito and Eusebio who gave me the best cocktails and were always such smiling staff. My stay at this resort was delightful i would definitely recommend and come back. A big thank you to the staff who made my stay even better.

Beautiful Resort ... .. But..
We just stayed at Secrets Tides for a quick getaway trip to "test the waters'. We do that often to see which resort is better for us - with so many in the Caribbean to choose from. SoI'll start by saying my husband and I are world travelers and we travel out of country for vacation AT LEAST twice per month. Our travel is 100% for LEISURE. We have stayed at the most prestigious hotels and resorts in the world - including Jumeirah Burj Al Arab (Dubai), St Regis (Cairo, Egypt), Conrad Resort Over-Water Villas (Bora Bora), Four Seasons, Seychelles and The Saxon Hotel (Johannesburg South Africa), Waldorf Astoria (Bangkok, Thailand) and Sandals Over-Water Bungalows (Montego Bay, Jamaica) as well as a recent cruise on the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection (ILMA Yacht). So that’s just to give an idea of our standards and expectations. (I’m in my 40’s.) However, we don't demand "perfection" or even close to that when we go to the Caribbean. We live in Florida. So it's all a skip and hop away. We just wanna have FUN!! Let's start with the GREAT THINGS ABOUT SECRETS TIDES: ** NEWER PROPERTY - Very Modern and Beautiful. Not a large resort so just the right size to keep it comfortable for walking to restaurants and other areas. ** GREAT AMENITIES - Spa was lovely (even though I was not able to get an appointment due to being fully booked). Lot's of spots to just sit and chill. 24 hr Cafe. Beach chairs and umbrellas with great shade. Volleyball Net on beach. Excursions offered. Pool activities. All that good stuff. ** NO RESERVATIONS REQUIRED FOR RESTAURANTS ** PREFERRED CLUB SERVICES offered for "Preferred Club" Guests and several separate "exclusive areas only for Preferred Level". Separate pool area and bars for preferred level guests as well. Even separate entrance to restaurants to avoid the lines. Highly recommend booking the "PREFERRED CLUB" LEVEL if you are going to stay here. ** EXCLUSIVE AREA FOR CHECK IN with dedicated bartender, snacks and beverages. Just in case you're early and your room isn't ready - you are still very comfortable. ** HOW THEY HANDLE "MISHAPS" is remarkable! Matter of fact, they handled our "hiccup" so well I will not even mention what it was. It was brought to their attention and we are VERY PLEASED and APPRECIATIVE of the attentiveness and accommodations by the management staff. OK "NOT SO GREAT" THINGS ABOUT SECRETS TIDES ** THE FOOD. Omg THE FOOD. (1 out of 5 STARS) We don't go to all inclusives just to eat. But when we visit 3 restaurants, including the Oceana and Seaside Grille (two in one night because the Oceana's food was so bad) - it's no longer my high end taste buds. It's THE FOOD. For instance, the breakfast buffet has scrambled egg whites ... scrambled egg yolks... but no REGULAR scrambled eggs. And both were watery and cold. The omelette guy was a sweetheart (I even tipped him) .. but that omelette was over cooked, dry and just not tasty at all. There were plenty of things to eat - but seems like everything was cold, over-cooked, or under cooked. Nothing really looked "appetizing" at this buffet. And breakfast is usually the EASIEST to get right. Another thing... there is NO CREAM for coffee. None. You get MILK only. No where in the entire resort is there CREAM. I kept asking for some type of cream with my coffee. They only had milk. Almond milk. Oat milk. Skim Or lactose free. I found that VERY strange. Dinner was not better. Room service food arrived cold and tasteless as well. The cheese dip was soupy and watery. The food (in general) has no flavor. Im NOT a foody by any means. But the food disappointment was still a bummer. ** NO ABOVE AND BEYOND SERVICE. (3 out of 5 STARS)*** Don't get me wrong. The staff was cordial. Most staff smiled and greeted us. Great looking bunch of people. But NO ONE seemed eager to do more than their job. And that's what we have come to LOVE from the higher end hotels/resorts. Just making sure when we are on vacation - EVERYTHING IS TAKEN CARE OF! We had a BUTLER and we did not feel like it at all. We barely heard from him. He seemed rushed and too busy. When I have Butler service - I don't want to work. I don't want to figure everything out myself. Why wasn't I proactively offered a SPA appointment? Why wasn't I contacted after I got to my room to ask if everything was ok with the room? Do I need anything ironed or pressed for dinner? Do I like coffee or tea in the moring before I eat breakfast or do I prefer to sleep in? Why wasn't it recommended I see certain parts of the resort .. or don't miss the sunset .. or ask what's our favorite dish ... dessert ... and recommend a great restaurant to start with. ** NO "FREE" BEACH CABANAS ** It's only 2-3 beach cabanas and they cost to reserve them. But they should all be free. The beach is NOT beautiful at all. The water on the shore is BROWN due to the seaweed. And every 10 minutes there is a HUGE FORKLIFT TRUCK (to remove the seaweed) which drives past making tons of noise. It's not a relaxing beach atmosphere - so if you're into the OCEAN .... don't expect too much. No one was in the water. I would NEVER get in there for fear of catching something harmful. **THE RESORT APP The resort app that you need to download to keep up with the resort activities, restaurant information, etc ...is not very user friendly ... and we tech savvy folks. It kept locking up and was so slow most of the time - I just gave up on it. Not the best. Not the worse. But needs work. SO IN SUMMARY - This is a BEAUTIFUL resort with GREAT management, nice amenities (for a smaller resort) and lots of entertainment and beautiful rooms. However the STAFF and food is (meh) and leaves a lot to be desired. Worth mentioning - our butler "Diego" had the most amazing smile and infectious laugh. Very pleasant. And he may have been a bit "overloaded" .. Lol .. But he was still very JOLLY and we loved the crazy EXOTIC socks he wore each day!! So, if the staff could be trained to be more PROACTIVE w/ "SMALL" QUESTIONS - this could change the entire resort atmosphere. For example, Hey Can I get you ice or juice for your room? Can I bring you fresh coffee and a few pastries in the morning? Would you like to know our SPA SPECIALS so I can book an appt for you? Hey ..You should try the Oceana restaurant with the LIVE VIOLINIST (who was absolutely AMAZING btw). WILL I RETURN? I probably would not anytime soon. But who knows in the future.
