Unfriendly management- wrong room
We checked in on Friday 2/14 to what was supposed to be an ocean view room. We paid for 3 nights at an ocean view. No one told me at check in that my room was not what I paid for. I received a dirty outdated room with a view of a wall. When I called the front desk, I was told they were sorry about giving me the wrong room but unfortunately, they couldn't move me because they were completely sold out. I was told by the woman on the phone that they could move me first thing on Saturday and she would call me back to see how they could make up for Friday error. I never received a call. On Saturday I called reception inquiring about the room changing at 12:00 and was transferred to Vanessi the duty manager. This woman was rude and curt and told me that they were well within the time frame as guest check out was at 12 but they had until 1pm as a grace period and I needed to wait until a room was open. I asked her for her name again and informed her that I had paid for a certain room and that they had created a frustrating and inconvenient situation, Vanessi responded with "ok" I did inform her I would contact Sheraton as her behavior and lack of help was rude and not a representation of Sheraton to which she said "ok". I contacted Paola via email who was the person the reservation was made with she apologized and said a Mr. Gomez would contact me immediately. No one contacted me as a Mr. Gomez only this rude Vanessi to tell me she would be moving me to the 20th floor which was a room I was not qualified for based on my reservation but she was doing it as a courtesy. I couldn't believe her condescending tone and behavior. I was moved to another room at 2:30pm. Upon check out I was told I still owed 16.00 dollars which is absurd as I showed him the confirmation from Paola that I had paid in full $1300 for my stay. This was ridiculous as he had no idea what the charge was only to tell me it was because I changed rooms. To say this was not the relaxation I was looking for is an understatement. The restaurants reservation was a nightmare and more than half the food offered at Punta Sal was not included in the all inclusive menu. Between Vanessi, the wrong room and the extreme limits on food items at the restaurant I am beyond upset and disappointed. The only bright light were the pool servers and bartenders incredibly patient, friendly and hard working.

AVOID if you’re 🌈 and want a beautiful trip
I have no idea why anyone would stay here. Even if you’re staying free on points, I would avoid this hotel. If I wanted a chain hotel where I never left my hotel - I’d go further down towards Mismaloya/Conchas Chinas and stay at the Hilton/Hyatt/Blanca/etc. The views are SPECTACULAR and the accommodations are much nicer. If you are thinking about the Sheraton because it is walking distance to town, this place is not quite close enough to be comfortable walking to-and-fro in the hot sun, so I would find one of the gorgeous boutique hotels in Zona Romantica. If you’re from the lgbtq community, I’d try the Tryst hotel in Zona Romantica. The beaches aren’t great in PV hotel areas (rocks and trash), so I’d say do the great rooftop hotel pools and take the cheap Ubers down the coast to more private beaches for a day if you want. Lastly, even though it is a Marriott Bonvoy property - they will hound you for timeshare meetings. It feels super icky and manipulative and NOT what I EVER want on a vacation. The staff here are all super kind, but I think you’ll find that Mexicans in general are super nice and gracious hosts, so great service will be found at all hotels. I would never ever stay here again (the beds feel old and our coffee maker didn’t work) and wish we’d stayed at Tryst or down in Mismaloya.

Timeshare Bypass
We bought and paid for a getaway. One bedroom, kitchen and balcony ocean view. They gave us a lock off with partial view, no balcony or even coffeemaker facilities. They say we don't get what we paid for until we agree to timeshare. This is extortion. Then when you ask for a manager, non on duty during peak check in. We agree to timeshare and get the room we booked and paid for. Extortion at its highest level.
