    Great Location

We had a very nice stay at this hotel by Waikiki Beach. Its location was very convenient, a quick walk to Waikiki Beach and close to numerous restaurants and stores. Our room in the recently renovated Ainahau Tower was well-furnished though modestly sized. Lighting was bright, and we had a nice balcony too. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. I read a lot of complaints about slow elevators. The Ainahau Tower has 4 elevators, but one of them was closed for renovations. During our stay, there was really only one occurrence where the elevators were jammed packed, and we had to wait 10 minutes before getting to the lobby. The rest of the time, we had no significant issues with the elevators. Upon checking in, the hotel also provided instructions on using the service elevators in case of delays, though we never felt compelled to have to use those. Parking is at the back of the hotel. Oddly, I wasn’t able to find an elevator for the lower levels of the parking lot and instead only found a staircase that led to the lobby. However, the elevators for the Ainahau Tower had access to the upper floors of the parking lot. There is a $45/day fee. Entering/exiting the lot required your key card (you can grab a ticket the first time you enter before checking in), though by the second day it seemed the gate recognized our license plate and opened the gates automatically. The parking lot was big, busy, but was never full during our stay. At check-in, we were given instructions to park at the adjacent International Market Place lot or the other Sheraton hotel in case the lot was full. With so many restaurants nearby, we ended up eating all our meals nearby and did not try any of the hotel’s restaurants. The hotel has a $33/day resort fee that includes numerous activities and amenities. We unfortunately did not get to take advantage of any of these as we were spending time throughout the island. The nearby area was bustling and full of energy, especially at night. Unsurprisingly, there were numerous ABC stores a short walk away and the adjacent International Market Place had many restaurants and a convenient Target store too.

Sub par rooms very tiny for more than one person

Stay here frequently for work purposes - the rooms are fairly small in the main tower wing - so be prepared if there are two of you especially the rooms facing the back of the property or the construction site:.. close to shopping and markets of Honolulu - staff is very nice and helpful but pretty much motel quality rooms compared to other Sheratons

    Location and Service Winning Combo_DvB

I tried to stay at this property in the past, but it was under renovation. I checked in later due to a change in plans after arrival in Honolulu; the night shift desk attendant was very polished. The room is nice, but it didn’t seem that “new.” It fit with island vibe and was clean, so the lack of excessive technology was likely intentional. It is very close to the beach and many of the advertised Honolulu activities. I opted for late checkout and the hotel accommodated. Overall, a great stay and staff.

One Tower of Nicely Remodeled Rooms

We used this hotel as a stopover point in between flights. From the mainland and then on to the big island. From a value for money perspective, this is the best you will get (within reasonable proximity to the airport) and that is affiliated with a major chain. I felt valued as a Titanium elite with an upgrade to a high floor room in the newly refurbished tower that has a water view. Side note…the front desk staff were really nice and friendly. The room is not super large but the refresh is nice and the room was great for what we needed. There are chairs out on a balcony which was nice. Elevators are still in a state of being repaired, but they opened up the service elevators to guests, which alleviated any problems for us. Elite breakfast was really good! The portions for the free breakfast were generous, however the up charge menu is much better and not horribly priced. Overall I would stay here again.

A Stay Fit for a Princess.

Friendly staff and a great location. The hotel was busy but this is to be expected when you’re in the heart of Waikīkī. A 2 minute walk will have you right on the beach. So many things to do at the hotel such as weaving classes, ukulele lessons and much more. There is even a games room including billiards and table tennis. The hotel is about a 30minute drive to the airport also.
