    Spectacular Place

I am amazed in all the reviews I've read about the Crane how few truly celebrated the magnificence of this exquisitely tropical, beautifully designed , wonderfully serviced resort. A large but meticulously planned out clifftop property never fails to delight anew, for days you can still discover new corners of real relaxation and chill, new pools, new gardens and lawns. and historical buildings in tribute to its 1887 origins. Our British Colonial designed Jr Suite Garden view provides guest house comfort w/beautiful detail, large jacuzzi bathroom with great shower - all marble or travertine flooring. It has Five restaurants, all offering al fresco or waterview and excellent food reasonably priced. and lastly Crane Beach below, one of the most beautiful on all of the Carribbean, really. To read about its ownership is to agree, this is a luxurious precious place that is afforable, intentionally. No one asked me to write this review , just compelled to share. Thank you Crane, am coming back

    Lovely week...

Me and my friend came for 1 week and thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Crane. I'd like to mention Valerie, who was absolutely lovely and took great care in keeping our room in great condition. So thanks, team Crane and Valerie for making our holiday a memorable one.

Fantastic stay at the picturesque Crane

My girlfriend & I have recently returned from The Crane and our experience was excellent. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel welcome with a complimentary drink on arrival, and remained on hand during our stay. Our suite was incredibly spacious, elegantly furnished and featured a private balcony & roof terrace with stunning ocean views. The bed was really comfortable and the attention to detail was 10/10. My only suggestion would be to introduce light switches closer to the bed for convenience (so you don’t have to get up to turn the lights off) and adjustable speed settings for the bedroom ceiling fan. Also more clothes hangers for the wardrobes are needed. The beach is a Caribbean gem, with white sand, crystal clear water and plenty of sunbeds. The sea on this side of the island tends to be quite rough though, and during our visit, swimming wasn’t possible. The adult pool perfectly blends modern luxury with ‘old money’ aesthetic. It’s placed high-up, overlooking the ocean with stunning views, and the poolside bar made it an even more enjoyable experience. Worth noting, The Crane is fairly secluded - away from the busier south and west coasts of the island. We hired a car, so this wasn’t an issue, although key destinations for us were typically a 30-40 minutes drive away. During our stay we had breakfast twice at L’Aure. The buffet was nice, though at 50 USD per person, it was overpriced in my view. Tip - on our second visit, we ordered from the à la carte menu which was a much better option, with generous portions and a wide selection with much better value. While the resort itself is undeniably beautiful, we did feel that the restaurants & hospitality lacked a bit of charisma. L’Azure, for example, has the potential to be a world class restaurant with stunning views over Crane beach, but the ambience felt a bit dated and uninspired. Similarly, our dinner at D’Onofrio’s Trattoria on our first night was pleasant and the service was good, but the food itself was average. We also stopped by The Grove (daytime beach restaurant) twice. The first time was perfect, but on our second visit, although its advertised opening hours were 11:00 - 16:30, when we arrived at 15:00 there were no staff in sight. After waiting for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged, we left which was disappointing. It would be great to see the resort invest in improving its dining experiences to match the standard of some of the islands flagship restaurants. Also perhaps somewhere more elegant for drinks, as the only bar ‘1884’ has a very ‘pub’ vibe. Critique aside, we had a fantastic stay and would like to thank the staff for their hospitality. We’d definitely recommend The Crane to those looking for a peaceful and picturesque retreat; we will definitely be returning.

    Very Average

My wife and I felt like we were surrounded by geriatric cruise ship guests throughout our week stay at the Crane. While the staff was very pleasant, the overall experience was not at all first class. The dining options were what I would expect one receives on a Carnival Cruise ship. The resort would be perfect for some, but we will not return and will not recommend it to our friends. The crowd consists of retirees from Canada.

    A wonderful trip destination

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Crane Resort. The room, a garden view, was spectacular! We spent a ton on time on our balcony, which was spacious and relaxing. The setting of the Crane is on a gorgeous cliff with a small private beach. The grounds are green and luscious, and they have monkeys, hens with chick's, and kittens. We loved it. Also, none of the animals bothered us, they kept their distance. From the pictures, I was concerned that it would be kind of dark and scary to walk around, but not at all. Everything is well-lit and busy at night. There was really good entertainment every night!! There are restaurants on site, even a small convenient store for food and an ice cream parlor. The pools are beautiful and well maintained. I gave it a four because of the location. Everything we wanted to visit took a taxi and due to the proximity of the the resort, taxi service became quite expensive- we did not expect this. I would rent a car next time. Hidden jewels, the people & service. Joan the "Lobby Ambassador " is so sweet, she makes sure that you're taken care of and pleased. Brantley took good care of us and always remembered us! Overall, we enjoyed it!
