    An amazing Spa day

We visited the Kayanta Spa for a so needed relaxation time and it was wonderful! From the moment you call for the reservation through check in massage and areas all is bliss, everything is clean, tidy and re-stock promptly. A big hooray to Mili, Spa manager for an amazing team, Teresa (my masseuse) has a high level of technique and care, my daughter's masseuse was also great and a highlight of all is Yvonne (ladies valet) she is so caring and warm making sure you are having the best time and enjoy all facilities. So if looking for a great Spa, look no more and enjoy Kayanta

    A wonderful experience every year!

We have been here several times, and when we go, we see guests who are also return guests, which tells you something. I’ve read reviews about this hotel that say it needs a refresh or a makeover, and this is my take on those reviews: those people like modern styles, and they don’t like more traditional styles. Nothing is in disrepair here, nothing is worn. It is a classic and classy style, without being gold lame tacky like Mar-a-Lago. The service is always attentive and friendly. The Club Grille and Fantino are both amazing restaurants, particularly Fantino. The two pools are well-maintained and present a relaxing atmosphere.

Disappointing Experience – Not a True 5-Star Hotel

If you’re planning a trip to Cancun, do yourself a favor and book an all-inclusive resort. This is not the place to choose for a standard hotel experience. My stay at the Kempinski Hotel was disappointing, and it fell far short of the 5-star status it claims. From the outset, it was clear this hotel is not in the same league as other 5-star properties. The prices for the nightly stay were okay but the food and the overall experience didn’t justify the cost. Basic amenities like airport shuttle transfers were not included—you’ll need to arrange your own transportation. After my stay, I understand why the hotel seemed so empty, as reflected in some of the less-than-stellar reviews I initially ignored. Hotel & Rooms: The front staff, a few of the servers at breakfast buffet and the beach/pool servers were low key rude. (Unfortunately what others have experienced as well) The hotel is outdated, with furnishings that appear to have barely been refreshed since its rebranding from Ritz-Carlton to Kempinski. While the rooms were clean, the beds, pillows, and mattresses were old and uncomfortable—I’ve experienced far better in 3-star hotels. The housekeeping staff were really nice and kept our rooms clean. The pool area and common spaces also showed signs of age and neglect. This is a far cry from the luxury you’d expect from a top-tier hotel brand, especially when the staff were only motivated by big tippers. Dining: • Fantarino Restaurant: The service here was exceptional, and the staff were welcoming and friendly, delivering the “5-star diamond” experience advertised. Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the service—there was no wow factor in the dishes, and the overall quality was underwhelming. • Breakfast Buffet at the Café: At $42 per person, it was overpriced for what was offered. That said, one server, Rudy, was especially kind and attentive on one of our mornings. • Dinner at Casitas: The standout of the trip. The service was excellent, and the local catch of the day (grouper) was delicious, but it’s not enough to redeem the overall experience. It seems like when this property transitioned from Ritz to Kempinski, they made a few surface-level updates but failed to maintain the high standards you’d expect. The Kempinski name here feels more like a hollow label than a guarantee of luxury. No matter how good a deal you find, I cannot recommend this hotel. I certainly wouldn’t stay here again or suggest it to my family or friends. For Cancun, stick to an all-inclusive resort—you’ll get far better value, service, and overall enjoyment.

    Beautiful Resort with Outstanding Staff.

The property is beautiful. We went for our anniversary and splurged for a club floor. Totally worth it! Concierge services were outstanding and very attentive. The food was excellent in the club lounge and in the restaurants. Special shout out to Mayanin who took such good care of us on the beach. Would definitely recommend and would live to go back someday.

    Beautiful hotel & amazing staff!

This hotel was beautiful and the service is excellent. Every staff member was kind, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Cleanliness is 5 stars as is the view! The Panoramic Suite is one of the most luxurious rooms we have ever stayed in & we have enjoyed some many beautiful views in our travels. Definitely worth staying here!
