Great location
We were dropped off at a side location which turned out to be an extra front desk in Building 11. This worked out well as this facility was not crowded and was close to our room. Oscar handled our check in promptly and provided some useful information. The next step before gaining access to the room is meeting with one of the concierges. This person gave us more information about restaurant discounts and resort activities. It was too much as we just wanted to get to our room and change clothes after many hours of traveling. We had a studio unit but it had a balcony and ocean view. The facilities in the room provided everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean and everything worked. We took advantage of all the bars and restaurants on the property. The Mexican cooking class was our favorite activity. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our favorite was Yahir who came by on the beach and at the smaller pool to get our happy hour pre-orders. The pools and beach are terrific. The location is so convenient as La Isla Shopping Mall is directly across the street. Inside the mall are a large number of restaurants which give discounts to resort guests. The resort Internet connection was good some days and poor on other days. But this was a minor inconvenience compared to my dealings with the concierge staff. This is a publicly traded timeshare company and the business model depends on generating as much revenue as possible from contract sales. The concierge function to sign up guests for sales presentations. My initial check in delays were because I had to state 5 times that I was not interested. Mentioning that we did not meet all of Westin's eligibility tests did not stop the requests. Midweek I received a phone call from a different concierge wanting to set up a sales presentation. And then the next morning was another call on the same subject. One day I asked an elite staff member about how early I should go to the airport for my flight and did not get an answer. Instead I was asked to book my transportation through The One, the service the resort uses that is much more expensive than what one can find online. Stay away from the concierge staff as much as possible.

What a beautiful place!
I had a lot of fun with my partner, I enjoy the ocean view ☺️ the room is big and there’s enough space to cook but also different restaurant options. It’s in front of a mall that has different activities so it’s pretty cool. I really enjoyed it! The service was excellent as well

Patricia rocks the Wellness Center
Writing the review to highlight the efforts of Patricia the Health Concierge at the Westin Lagunamar. This is a beautiful resort with a wonderful staff made even better with the daily insertion of the resort’s Wellness Program. All guests of the resort are invited (free of charge) to participate in various athletic activities including pickleball, tennis, miniature golf, ping pong, and yoga. Wether you are looking for an introduction to yoga or a seasoned yogi Patricia will guide you through your practice. Do not miss it!

Best 60th bday ever
Clean safe staff is so accommodating. We went here to celebrate my 60th birthday with my two grown sons and their girlfriends. We love the pools, the swim up bars and the beautiful beach. The water was so warm and so blue!! We all played mini golf, ping pong and pickleball right in the resort. Two of us did a yoga class with Patricia one of the mornings (being a yoga instructor myself I wasn’t sure what the class would be like) it was fabulous- the hour flew by. Oscar and Gabriel at the hotel front could not have been more helpful. Having the beautiful huge mall right across the street is a bonus. We would definitely go back.

Horrendous Management and Zero Attention to Detail or Care
Hello - I'm providing a 1-star review as the hotel service here was unacceptable in multiple ways. First, we had a vacation club and added a second room, but the hotel management and booking cancelled the second room repeatedly as they thought it was in error. This took weeks to rectify and hours of aggravation. Second, we requested a cot and a crib in the room and neither were there when the room was ready and was assured it would be. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the cot and crib to be set up after entering the room, which when travelling with a 3 and a 1 year old, this severely impacted their naps, which is why we made sure we organized ahead of time. Third, we only received 1/2 of our luggage when we checked into our room and had to wait 2 hours until we received the rest of our luggage, which impacted our dinner reservations as no one could get ready. The room was "ready" at 4pm, but most of our clothes didn't arrive until 6pm, which impacted our dinner reservations. Last and most important, someone fell asleep in the room above us with their tub on and all of the water was leaking through every soffit and hole in the bathroom, soaking most of our clothes and suitcases as the closet is in the bathroom and occurred at ~11pm. The mess was ultimately cleaned up 2-3 hours later, but we had to spend all day the next day doing laundry as the clothes had insulation and paint chips on them from the water in the above room. NOTHING was done for compensation associated with this. They offered to move rooms for that night at 2am, but only for 1 of the rooms we had (we had an adjoining rooms as our young kids and in-laws were with us). Moving at 2 in the morning was not really an option as our very kids were fast asleep and they did not have other cribs and cots for us to move the kids to. In addition, we had all of the supplies and groceries purchased, so moving would have taken hours. The front desk and management of the property had extremely poor attitudes towards helping us in everyway and as a Marriott lifetime status member, I feel this property should seriously consider a change in management as service and accommodations are not their top priorities.
