Fine for a day or two, but no longer.
We stayed for one night (1/12/25-1/13/25) in a 1 br ocean view villa. It was very clean and spacious. We didn’t use the kitchen or whirlpool. The balcony was nice with a good view of the beach. The food at the sports bar was just okay, very basic food for tourists. We didn’t eat at the other restaurants. The hot tub at the main pool was not very warm and not very clean. We didn’t use the pool at all. The beach looked very clean with lots of seating. No seaweed anywhere I could see. Staff worked diligently to keep it clean. Grounds were nice. It’s pretty difficult to find your way around, though. It was a fine place for an overnight stay, but I’d never vacation here or stay longer than 2 nights. Just doesn’t seem that fun or appealing overall.

Christmas with our Westin Family
This resort is so beautiful with their gorgeous white sand beach, mesmerizing blue water and wonderful staff. Here's a shout out to Oscar at the front desk. He was absolutely amazing. Oscar and Daniel, the bellmen were so helpful with luggage. Benjamin, our concierge, was amazing to work with. Our owner's meeting with JC "the butler" was spectacular. This property is well maintained. The only area of concern would be the food. If they had better food at Oceana, this resort would be perfect.

Loved it! Will be back
Highly recommend this resort! It’s an older property but they keep up with the maintenance meticulously. They were painting touch up everywhere. They washed our windows. They were washing the hallways, I mean meticulously. Staff were friendly and everything is clean! Ther Mercado marketplace has reasonable prices $1.20 for soda $2 for beer and water and milk. If you want a bottle of wine I suggest packing it in a carry on. $35+ for cheap wine normal is $50+. We loved the steak nachos at the pool bar. If you want a truly unique dining experience, across the street at La isla mall is elephanthai reservation for the lagoon, is a must!

Westin Lagunamar- our favorite vacation spot
Westin Lagunamar- WONDERFUL! Beautiful resort. The location cannot be beat. So close to everything a person would want to go to. Easy walk to wonderful restaurants, shopping, grocery store is nearby. The condos give you the ability to cook and prepare your own meals and drinks. The food here is good. No need to leave the resort. The staff and management are excellent. They are constantly working to keep everything tip top.

Great location
We were dropped off at a side location which turned out to be an extra front desk in Building 11. This worked out well as this facility was not crowded and was close to our room. Oscar handled our check in promptly and provided some useful information. The next step before gaining access to the room is meeting with one of the concierges. This person gave us more information about restaurant discounts and resort activities. It was too much as we just wanted to get to our room and change clothes after many hours of traveling. We had a studio unit but it had a balcony and ocean view. The facilities in the room provided everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean and everything worked. We took advantage of all the bars and restaurants on the property. The Mexican cooking class was our favorite activity. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our favorite was Yahir who came by on the beach and at the smaller pool to get our happy hour pre-orders. The pools and beach are terrific. The location is so convenient as La Isla Shopping Mall is directly across the street. Inside the mall are a large number of restaurants which give discounts to resort guests. The resort Internet connection was good some days and poor on other days. But this was a minor inconvenience compared to my dealings with the concierge staff. This is a publicly traded timeshare company and the business model depends on generating as much revenue as possible from contract sales. The concierge function to sign up guests for sales presentations. My initial check in delays were because I had to state 5 times that I was not interested. Mentioning that we did not meet all of Westin's eligibility tests did not stop the requests. Midweek I received a phone call from a different concierge wanting to set up a sales presentation. And then the next morning was another call on the same subject. One day I asked an elite staff member about how early I should go to the airport for my flight and did not get an answer. Instead I was asked to book my transportation through The One, the service the resort uses that is much more expensive than what one can find online. Stay away from the concierge staff as much as possible.
