Amazing stay at this super clean resort

We loved our stay here. Our room, an Emerald Junior Suite Ocean Front, was beautiful, large, always clean, and we loved the view. It was amazing to sit on the balcony and watch the waves. The grounds were likewise so clean and well maintained. Our check in was wonderful, the staff was attentive, explained things well, and then someone brought us and our luggage to our room and told us all the things we needed to know about the room, as the lights and fan and a few other things are automated (really nice to have control of everything from my bed!), and explained the jacuzzi and that the windows were mirrored so no one could see in during the day, but at night we might want to close the blinds in the shower/bath room! Likewise, check out was super easy, and took maybe 4 minutes, even though we had a room charge to pay (for our massage at the spa). The day before we left they called our room to ask what time we would want a cart to come pick up our luggage to bring it to the lobby. We thought that was a nice touch. Room service always did a great job, and we enjoyed the evening turn down service as well. Restaurants were fantastic. We heard people say they had a really hard time getting a reservation at the hibachi restaurant, but we got in the first day we tried. All the other restaurants are first come first served, and we usually didn't have to wait. The longest wait was 40 minutes one evening. They are strict with the dress code, which we personally appreciate, so long pants, closed toed shoes, collared shirts for men, dresses or dress pants and nice sandals/shoes for women. The food is amazing! We went to the steak restaurant, Mar y Tierra, right on the beach, for multiple breakfasts, multiples lunches, and for dinner twice. My husband had steaks there that he loved, grilled over fire for that great taste. I also had really good food. We also went to the Italian restaurant twice, amazing food! The breakfast buffet was delicious, as was the lunch buffet. It's pretty small but still a good selection. We had snack in the afternoon there once, which is not buffet, but a la carte, and there is no dinner there. We also tried room service once. They stated it would come in about 45 minutes and they were pretty much right on the dot. It was really good food, but they forgot the dressing for my salad. We loved that there was a churro cart outside the restaurants and theatre every evening, those fresh churros filled with vanilla or caramel cream were so good if you still had room after eating a delicious dinner. There is a pool that has loud music and activities, which is nice to sit around even if you don't like to participate, just to people watch. There is also a quieter pool that is set up kind of like a lazy river, and that was nice and peaceful. There are food trucks at both pools for snacks/lunch. The pool staff are always walking by to take your food order, and then they bring it to you. The main beach was quite rocky, so much that it kind of hurt to walk on. But the beach in front of our oceanfront building was really nice sand and almost no one was ever there because it was a bit of a walk from the main beach. We were very frustrated seeing people head down to the pool at 6:30am to reserve multiple pool chairs per person, so they would have one in the shade and one in the pool, and then going back to bed and not coming back until after lunch. I totally get leaving your towel on a chair and going to grab breakfast and then coming back, but this was extreme. I know reserving chairs is a problem at every resort, and it would be nice if someone came up with a good solution. The other thing that was disappointing were the evening shows. The fire show and the magic show were quite good, but the rest were sub par. And the theatre was a very boring and bland room with no decor, no atmosphere. We have travelled to this area multiple times and like to try new resorts. We have never stayed at the same one. But we would consider going back to the this one. It was so fantastic.

    Highly recommend!

The ambiance was spectacular. We really wanted to visit somewhere that felt more authentic and Valentin hit the nail on the head with its Hacienda style! The food and service were great, offering lots of different options for everyone. There were always seats available at the beach with beachside service! We enjoyed the Golden Pool but unfortunately all of the chairs were always taken at the Main Pool. This made it hard to join in on the water activities or hang out around it sometimes. We visited Cafe Sisal multiple times a day and are very grateful for their service (and caffeine). Definitely recommend Valentin for your future trips, getaways, and celebrations. The staff found out we were expecting and surprised us with a sweet treat in our room after dinner! It was incredibly thoughtful. Also, the staff always checked and make sure we were taken care of and asked if we needed anything. The resort was very safe and beautiful all throughout! We will be back!

    Great place

Spent a week at the "VI" and it was great, except the first few days were drizzle/overcast. January is their winter. The week prior it was rainy everyday. Weather cleared and we had 3 beautiful days. The Cancun airport is busy! Customs was crazy but the lines moved. After retrieving your luggage walk straight through to the outside. Do not even look at the timeshare people. All transfer rides you pick up outside. We found our Amstar people easily and they directed us to their area. We had a private transfer so we didn't stop at multiple resorts. Well worth the $50 each way. Just my husband and myself in the van. Check-in was smooth. You put their App on your phone so you can see all the daily activities, restaurant menus etc. They have a huge main pool area that can get crazy and fun & also have areas that are quieter. Building 3 & 4 are closer to the main pool. They have a dress code and will enforce it: All but one (Mar/Terra) restaurant guys need to wear a collared shirt, it can be a polo and nicer shoes (no tennis shoes/flipflops). Men, long pants that are not jeans. Women wear dresses, skirts or pants outfits. NO shorts, jeans, swimwear. Just read their website. It isn't a big deal. We loved all the restaurants but didn't do the Asian one. The only reservation was for the Hitbachi table. You reserve the day of, starting at 10am with your concierge. We didn't do it, but it looked fun. It does fill up. Sushi bar is first come/first serve. There are NO reservations for dinner. You just go and they will give you a beeper if there isn't a table. You can go sit in a variety of places to wait. Inside - Don Miguel has a very good piano guy every night and outside they have music each night and they were all good. Breakfast and lunch have to places. One by the ocean and you order. One close to the other reservations near the core that you have buffet. We liked having our omelettes made to order and at lunch you can also have things made to order. They buffet choices daily were never boring. Be sure to look all around before chosing. On our arrival night we ate at Mar/Terra so you can wear shorts and sandals. Amenities: They do NOT provide Conditioner. Only shampoo & Lotion. They also have a big umbrella in each room. There was a hair dryer and steamer in our room too. Housekeeping came every day and then at night to turn down the bed and give fresh towels. Refrig was restocked every day. Leave a $1 in the refrigerator. Room was very clean. They are cleaning the grounds daily. We were in #8 top floor, and spent our lounging days by the golden pool. The service at the pool is great. You can get lunch from the snack bar and at the main pool the taco truck had amazing food. You should go out around 8:30 to get a lounge if you want a specific area but please use it! We went to do a swim workout in their lap pool every day at 3 and we found a lounge to sit on for the hour we were there. All the workers are pleasant and say Hello. We did not meet anyone that wasn't nice. They have fitness classes every morning, a bike tour and something at 3 pm every day. they had a huge foam party one day. The musicians/singers were very good. The resort is spread out but flat, we loved walking all around and many people jogged. Beach was nice, there are rocks but there is an area to swim, right by the life guard. You could walk both ways. No other resorts nearby and no vendor issues. This is our 3rd trip here. They added a Coffee shop that is open from 7 am - midnight. they have treats, ice cream, sandwiches etc... We went every day after dinner. Gift shop had a good variety and there was also a dress shop next to the jewelry shop. We didn't do any excursions this time. There are a few companies that have desks there and the VI has them too. You sign up at the Main pool by the towel exchange. I truly can't think of anything negative to say about this place. It is adult only. WIFI was spotty by the pool but ok in the rooms and Cafe. TV had some english speaking channels. Don't forget your tip money. The staff work hard. You can always get change at the reception area.

    Fantastic Resort

Our group had never been to an all inclusive and didn't have great impressions of them. We liked the idea for the convenience but weren't sure how much we would like the experience. The Valentin was fantastic. Incredible staff (shout out Go Team--especially Pablo, Isabel, and Israel), great food, friendly bartenders and servers, beautiful vegetation, clean rooms, and creative entertainment. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this to anyone looking for a vacation that has some fun, luxury, and ease.

    Our 50th Anniversary

Wonderful service. Great food especially the French restaurant. All the employees were very very friendly. The bike tour is a must. Chairs at the Golden pool are nice and quiet. A bit windy for us because couldn’t get into the ocean. Jose, Manuel, Israel and Daniel waitress by the main pool were wonderful. And Dora is great to chat with
