Nov 20, 2024Relaxing fun filled family vacation
I had an incredible stay at Velas Vallarta! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff at the pool (shout out to Juventino!) were incredibly attentive, ensuring we always had what we needed and making sure we were comfortable under the sun. Christian does a great job with activities and entertainment at the pool. The swim up bar staff (Antonio and Jose) make great drinks. The kids club was fantastic—my children had an absolute blast with all the activities and games, giving us some well-deserved relaxation time. We stayed in a Villa Plus room, and it is a great size for a family. The rooms were spacious, modern, and well-equipped, with plenty of space for everyone. It truly felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend for families looking for a stress-free, fun-filled vacation!

Wonderful place to stay!
A wonderful place to stay!! We came for a quick relaxing trip with another couple. Highly recommend Velas! The food and service were excellent! Edwin served us at the beach everyday and was extremely attentive and kind! Loves that we could order from a menu and/or eat from the buffet. Can’t wait to come back again!

I would have given this a 1-star, but that wouldn't be fair to the customer service we received. To say the food wasn't great is an understatement. The best option for food on site is the Creperia, what makes fresh crepes with toppings you choose, right in front of you. The worst option is the hamburger bar. The food must be deep-fried in the same frier, as everything tastes like fish. The beach side restaurant will not let men in with shirts that reveal the shoulder. Women are allowed in wearing fishnet coverings if they want. Quite strange. The 5 or 6 items at the buffet are usually not their best items, I'd suggest you order off the menu. That doesn't mean you'll get what you order, but it usually is better than the buffet tray food. The pools are clean. Staff clean them regularly. THERE IS NO LAZY RIVER. There is a walkway between the pools that connects them via water, almost. You still have to get up some stairs, out of the water and jump in the other pool. There is no water flowing one way or another because of this. We stayed on the 4th floor with a balcony. At this level you can almost make out the ocean, below this I'm certain you cannot. I say this only because if you want an ocean view, you're going to need a suite on a higher floor (5-8). The rooms were spacious and clean, and cleaned daily. All staff was friendly. Going to the concierge for an excursion purchase will wind you up in a timeshare presentation. I'd recommend walking over to the Marina and hitting up one of the excursion businesses there. We had success doing this.

The perfect destination 25th silver anniversary celebration! Thank you Velas Vallarta staff for everything!
Arriving at Velas Vallarta, we were immediately greeted by the friendly bellmen saying “Welcome Home”! I had messaged our amazing wedding coordinator Michele Tanc that I was on my way to the resort from the airport and she was there to greet me with a big hug. Judith our rooms coordinator also came out to say hello. Next the most wonderful Hotel Manager in the whole world (in my opinion but it’s so true!) Juan Carlos came out to say hello and made sure we felt welcomed at his beautiful resort. We had a group of 25 family and friends coming in for our 25th anniversary celebration. Michele our coordinator is very good at what she does. She made all the planning so easy and if we needed something, she made it happen. The whole day she spent with us all the way till the end of the event. She is my hero. We had a beautiful cocktail hour after our rehearsal with mariachi trio. Antonio is the best bartender and he took such great care of us, David the banquet captain and his team made sure the drinks were replenished quickly and that we were all taken care of with the yummy food. They were with us for our 25th event too which made it so nice. Antonio was our event bartender (you can also catch him bartending at the swim up bar). We worked with Oliver for the entertainment and he picked the perfect Cuban quartet salsa band to keep us dancing on our feet! I didn’t want the night to end 😔. It was perfect! We spent the whole week at this resort and have so many to thank for making it an amazing week! Thank you La Ribera’s 2 Cristina’s! These 2 ladies go above and beyond and truly care about you and your experience. Thank you La Ribera night manager Jesus and the Chef who came out to talk to us about the menu for the rehearsal dinner! It was such a nice evening you had planned for us! Andrea’s restaurant manager Omar - my other hero! Servers Raul, Ricardo and Hector. Pool servers - Rogelio(keep that smile going! You make everyone feel like family. Ivan and Edwin too. Entertainment Cristian for helping me surprise my friend Sal with the mariachis on Sunday night. All of my family and friends loved it here! Poolside paradise
My mother and I just spent a wonderful week at Velas Vallarta. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and you truly feel like you’re in a tropical paradise when lounging at the pool. What made the experience even better was the exceptional staff. We had the best experience at the pool with Victor Lopez who made sure we had everything we could want or need and who always showed up with the warmest friendliest smile everyday. I can’t wait to return!
