    Not happy

I love this little resort it’s our second time here!! I requested a ground floor room because of a recent back injury and they couldn’t accommodate so they gave us a third floor room which was fine because there is an elevator BUT the elevator broke!!! Walking 3 flights of stairs is not a good idea!! Also, trying to get a chair around the pool started being a problem because guest decide to put their belongings on the chairs in the morning and go to the beach all day BUT WANT A CHAIR AT THE POOL SO WHEN They RETURN from the beach THEY HAVE A one!! So everyone else well the hell with us!!! I sat at the pool for 3 hours and all the reserved chairs were still unoccupied!! There needs to be a sign at least stating you can’t reserve chairs and if your going to be away from it for any length of time you lose it!!

Wonderful Gem of a hotel behind Grace Bay Club Resort on Spectacular Grace Bay Beach

We spent one week in January 2025 at this lovely resort. Quiet, conveniently located. All staff were lovely, helpful and welcoming. Studio room was spacious and very clean, bed was very comfortable. Elevator was great. Easy walk to the beach which is spectacular! Villa del Mar beach area is a great size and the concierge team (twin brothers Kerone and Lerone) are very welcoming, happy and attentive. Drinking water is available on beach and sometimes the concierge on duty brings a refreshing fruit treat to the guests as you relax beachside. Lounge chairs and umbrellas set up and always available. Breakfast is as posted, except all cereals were sugar coated, kids-type so not fibre-types as shown. Pastries were nice, fresh fruit as in bananas and oranges. Always well stocked and clean. Restaurants and grocery store are within a 10 minute walk. Friendly people and good food! No mosquitoes this trip but a few little biting black flies in the evening while sitting out. We will definitely return!

Highly recommend the Villa Del Mar!

Arriving at Villa del Mar we were greeted by Westline and Ruth. Their smiles were contagious and we soon learned that each of these professional ladies would be so accommodating throughout our stay, exceeding our expectations, "Many Many Thanks", to you two! We had a quick check in, however our room was not quite ready but did not take long (approx. 1/2 hr). We had assistance with our luggage to the room (202), using an elevator and luggage cart made it so easy. Our room had ample space for two, king size bed, queen sofa bed, the room was actually quite spacious. Large bathroom, shower with and separate tub. A kitchenet, table and two chairs, coffee maker, sink, fridge, microwave, toaster, with enough dishes and serving amenities for four. A large deck with a lounger and table plus four chairs and a great garden/pool view. This is a boutique condo/resort (42 rooms) we never had any issues with pool loungers or beach loungers being available. Villa del Mar also has an exclusive beach location in a very short walking distance, for their guests. We have never seen so many vacant beach loungers, goes without saying, never had any problem with obtaining loungers at any time of the day. Beach staff were more than eager to assist us with lounger prep, towels, cold water or bar trips, many thanks to Kerone and Lerone (twins). The soft white sand beach and aqua colored water was beautiful, long walks on a not so busy beach, made this vacation so memorable. Morning continental poolside breakfast, not a lot of choices but a great way to get your day started, Rose works so hard at spot cleaning and keeping food supplies topped up, "Thank you Rose", you assisted in making our vacation memorable. As this was a boutique resort it didn't take long to feel welcomed. Felix took care of the pool, loungers and grounds, great chatting with him. The pool bar opened for business at noon and stayed open until 8:00. Wilkin, managed the bar and was great to talk with. We introduced him to good old classic Canadian rock music, which he played frequently. This vacation was a celebration of our 46th wedding anniversary and a birthday for our daughter, who joined us. We had pre-arranged for a third person with Villa del Mar, they were so accommodating, again "Thank You, Westline"! Guest appreciation on Wednesday's with live music was a nice personal touch, played a love song for our anniversary and happy birthday song for our daughter. Oliver, the evening front desk person assisted with Island sites to see or visit and various restaurants within walking distance, he was very accommodating and always had a smile. We spent a morning snorkeling with Caicos Island Charters, who picked us up from the beach in a large Catamaran, very smooth sailing. We were very fortunate to see a Humpback whale and her calf up close and personal (of course within a safe distance), lots of reef fish and a visit to an Island to see the endangered Rock Iguana's, this activity is a must. As usual our time went quickly, memorable restaurants such as Solana (Gary, "Many Many Thanks", for making our vacation memorable), The Farm (Rose) and Big Al's (Nadia) a not so known pub restaurant that makes a great burger at a reasonable price, Bella Luna and Castaway (great live music) all were within walking distance from Villa del Mar.

Delightful Resort Steps From the Beach at Affordable Price

We were looking for somewhere close to the beach but at a more budget-friendly price, and we found it at Villa del Mar Resort. It was literally a three minute walk to the beach, and we had our own section of loungers and umbrellas. There were always plenty of loungers available no matter what time you went, all with one of the best beach views in the Caribbean. An attendant was there in case you wanted drinks brought to you. Honestly this section of Grace Bay was amazing and not overcrowded at all (we were there from December 30 through January 04). The pools were filled with bath-warm water, which felt great in the evening when the sun went down. And the hot tub actually had hot water (too many times we have used a hot tub at resorts that were simply luke warm). It never got loud of felt too busy at the resort even though there were many families with small children. The staff was super friendly and always ready to help with a smile. Need a cab ordered? No problem. Have a question about travel times to the airport or interested in an excursion? They are there for you. The grounds were well kept and tranquil, and the cleaning staff was available every day to clean our room. There was a tiki bar available for drinks by the pool, and they even offered a complimentary happy hour one evening with delicious rum punch and snacks. Our room was a deluxe studio, which included a King-size bed and a pull out couch, easily enough for two adults and a teenager. It also included a kitchenette that came in handy to store and re-heat leftovers and a spacious balcony that was positioned directly over the pool. No beach view but still extremely pretty with palm trees and shrubs. The only negative was it had a window area in the wall that separated the bathroom with the rest of the space that only had shutters- so privacy might be an issue for some. Otherwise the room worked out great. Providenciales is not cheap- but there are a number of casual establishments all within walking distance (also finer dining if that is what you are after). Several shopping plazas and the grocery store were also easy to get to in no more than 12 minutes. No car needed- which was another huge plus. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at Villa del Mar if you are not looking for an all inclusive and would rather venture out, want to be within steps of the beach, but are more budget-conscious. Although you are saving money, you are not compromising on the comfort or quality in the least!

    Amazing Experience, BUT.....

We just checked out of Villa Del Mar 2 days ago and made it back home. What can I say it was an amazing experience. The resort is beautiful and a short walk to Grace Bay beach. When walking to the beach, you walk on a path through the Ocean Club resort and you're on the beach. So technically Villa Del Mar while not directly on the sand, it's pretty much "on the beach". We had a 2 room suite in building A and it was amazing. 2 rooms, nice modern bathroom, with a kitchen and living room. We didn't use the kitchen for it's full purpose but the fridge and freezer were useful. With the cost of things in Turks I can see why some guests reviews said they cooked at the resort. As my title said Amazing Experience, BUT....here's what I mean: When we arrived we noticed that the parking lot was empty. The free parking is also a bonus but I thought "hmm okay maybe people are out sight seeing" but as the day went on no other cars except for the ones that were parked there long term were in the parking lot. As we walked through the resort the pools were empty and there was no action going on. We thought that was interesting. So the next day we though we would see people at the breakfast bar. Nope. So we asked the front desk "is anyone else here at the resort". They told us it's slow season so we were the only guests in the whole resort! That surprised us and it's cool if you really want to get away from it all and be in seclusion but at the same time it was a bit weird having a whole resort to yourself. When Turks says it's slow season take that seriously because resorts, restaurants, and businesses shutdown during the slow season and you can see it and feel it. The second part that raised a little red flag for me was the breakfast. It's not really breakfast that you would get from a resort that has an onsite restaurant. They set up fruit, a few pastries, and juice at the bar near the pool. It would be nice if this resort had it's own restaurant with breakfast. My concern with the breakfast on our first morning was "since it's just us at the resort, what happens to the food that is leftover" since there's not kitchen (or one that we could see since there's no restaurant on the grounds). On our final day when we were checking out of the resort, we happened to be leaving when breakfast was ending. We saw the bar attendant carrying the cereal dispensers to building B and it made me think "are they just storing the cereal dispensers with the cereal in it along with the fruit in a closet"? My assumption is that's what happening and if that's the case is it secure from things out in the environment (bugs, heat, etc.) Overall it's a beautiful resort. The staff there is the nicest. Westingley (I think that's how you spell her name) and the others were amazing. They were helpful and always had a smile. They made the experience even better. Felix the hotel groundskeeper and his son working at the bar are great guys. Kerone, the staff member working the chairs at the beach...what an awesome guy! Great job overall Villa Del Mar. You are our home when we go to Turks. I saw that you have some properties for sale :) Who knows what that can mean in the future!
