Great stay, excellent hard working friendly staff.
The service is impeccable every area such as bartenders, cleaning staff, pool staff, animation, kitchen staff, photographers, lobby, buffet servers are so hard working. All staff are very professional and work really hard. Please do not take other reviews seriously. Yes it's an older resort and the WiFi is very choppy, but the beach is gorgeous, good food, great all inclusive price. The staff all deserve a raise and promotion. The manager of this resort should pay more attention to the good reviews.

Cheap beach vacation in paradise if you can overlook deficiencies
Come for the beach. Dining: 1) hours ridiculous given this is a family resort. Supper does not start til 6:30pm. The babes are starving, crying and ready for bed. 2) December 16th at 9:40 am the buffet ran out of food despite being open til 11am. I complained but guest services couldn’t give a flying fornication. Sunwing rep saved the day and forced them to put out more. In general if you do not get to buffet at start of sitting you might starve. 3) on the positive side much of the food is prepared fresh in house, especially the cakes. 4) only 3 a la carte meals per week allowed = lots of buffet Come for the beach Rooms: 1) a bit old and tired. Getting a king bed instead of two doubles is challenging. 2) ground floor patio door does not lock. Thankfully there is a safe. 3) key cards malfunction regularly. Some guests complain of no hot water. Come for the beach Sports: 1) great tennis and pickleball courts. The lights are about 30% burned out but possible to play in the evening. 2) the gym has an amazingly well appointed free weight room. 3) gym hours suck: 8-8. People want to exercise before breakfast, and since delaying breakfast might mean the buffet is empty these hours are a real problem. 4) it is very windy here; therefore water sports have not been feasible thus far. Come for the beach Staff are lovely except, ironically, the rude guest services lady Come for the beach. Entertainment: there is a hard working animations team but overall this is a small family resort with a low key vibe. This is not Cancun. Come for the beach: it is a wild unspoiled paradise. Apart from the obligatory villas dotting the shore there are no mega hotels. It is spectacular, so spectacular that despite the deficiencies listed above we might return. In short if you can book an inexpensive package and are willing to accept cafeteria style dining in exchange for a safe gorgeous setting 3 short hours from Toronto this place fits the bill. If you want luxury do not come here. PS.they do not enforce a smoking area.

Outstanding
The whole place is breathtaking. The sand is as fine as flour. The meals and drinks are delicious, especially in the restaurants, the Café and the Mexican restaurant are outstanding. Not to mention the personnel : Marco, Tanya, Melissa, to name a few. The only drawback was the cold. We did not know that December was their winter. It was extremely cold in the late afternoons and evenings.

Resort Review
We had a wonderful time at this resort. Rooms were ok but could use some improvement. Food was pretty good and they had a wide variety of things to choose from. The grounds and beach are beautiful and all of the staff were very friendly. Yoga by the pool was great with Anna. The catamaran was a 10/10 experience with Rex! The show the staff put on in the theater was fantastic. Overall we really enjoyed our trip.

Sick at this Hotel
Went with a group many of us including myself were very sick and indication of unclean and sanitary it is. Been to other destinations first time stuck in my room with vomiting and diarehea. Waste of a day off the short 7 day stay. No water bottles provided! Food in buffet is really sub par and don’t try booking at any restaurants! The only good thing is the view of the ocean but it’s rocky the drinks are also terrible I highly recommend not coming here.
