SERENITY AT IT'S FINEST
We just returned from our second visit to Waimea Plantation Cottages, and though the first time 3 years ago was perfect, this time was even better! A more tranquil and beautiful place could not exist. The resort was originally a sugar plantation and the history of this remarkable place is evident everywhere. The charming, comfortable cottages are well spaced on the lush magnificent grounds, and each one reflects the allure of genuine Hawaii. The resort has done an excellent job of maintaining the tranquil feel of old Hawaii’s simpler times mixed with modern day comforts. The front of the entire property is unobstructed ocean views, and each evening at sunset many of the guests found a driftwood log on the beach to relish the spectacular sunset from a “front row seat”. We passed many an hour sitting on our private lanai reading, chatting, and just drinking in the absolute beauty and placidity of this truly unique and breathtaking spot. Another boon to Waimea Plantation Cottages is the onsite restaurant which serves the BEST barbecued chicken on the planet among other things. There are also a few excellent restaurants within walking distance. The location is perfect for long strolls on the beach (swimming is not recommended at that spot due to coral but they have a lovely pool and jacuzzi), fishing on the nearby pier, driving to close by magnificent hikes, and enjoying every single second in this paradise. If you are seeking a large high rise hotel with lots of action, modern and characterless furnishings and drinks with little umbrellas, definitely head straight to Waikiki. If your idea of a Hawaiian vacation is being surrounded by astounding beauty, comfort and an authentic aloha spirit, Waimea Plantation Cottages has your name on it!

Glorified 2 star motel
Waimea Plantation cottages is a glorified motel. Cottages are run down with dirty floors. Good ocean breeze but hard to enjoy with windows that barely operate and clearly are not designed to be open. Location and staff are great, however, for the price I would not recommend at all.

Awesome!
Gorgeous grounds with plenty of amenities. The cottages were well maintained, beds were comfortable, and has everything we needed in the kitchen. Nice to have Chicken in a Barrel and a coffee truck on site. Check in was easy. Easy access to Waimea canyon. Our stay couldn't have been better!

Skip it. Needs a total renovation
UGH! The pictures don’t come close to the reality of this so called resort. What a disappointment. Our room smelled musty, had mold in the shower, windows didn’t close, table and chairs ragged, and in truth needed to be totally renovated. The only saving grace was the comfortable bed and sheets. We informed the management but there was nothing to be done.

The wonderful Waimea Plantation Cottages
This accommodation was a dream come true. It is a truely magical setting that you feel so lucky to be staying in. The cottages are absolutely gorgeous - I loved their spaciousness, beautifully presented, the fact they had older fittings and fixtures that were made to last from years ago - was so cool. The kitchen was well stocked with pots n pans. They table had a lovely welcome package of biscuits, shell necklaces and a bag which was lovely. The check in staff were so professional and welcoming. The estate was beautifully and presented - the grounds were so beautiful and the grasses, trees and gardens all beautifully tended - they whole place was immaculately presented. We didn't end up using the pool, which was a pity - I loved the umbrellas. All the facilities down by the beach, were so lovely - the hammock etc was so nice. I caught a couple of beautiful sun rises and sunsets. Pure bliss. Our dvd machine didn't work when we tried to use it. We didn't reallise till after 8pm when the service staff have left - but they were so good - they tried to help and a lovely guy came to see if he could fix it. The next day they replaced the machine - we do like to relax as a family and watch a movie after a busy day of sightseeing - so it was a bit of a bummer, but they did everything they could to try and fix it - what more could you want! It was SO NICE to be away from all the busy hotels and tourist areas. Waimea town is gorgeous - so is Hanapepe - there was a great supermarket/shop about half way to Poipu that was well stocked - Big Save Market at Ele'ele as well as Waimea itself. I can't rave about WPC enough - if you have a chance to stay there - take it - you won't regret it!
