So much potential, would recommend with warning
Delightful cottages, kind people, great location for hiking and quiet, really cool little township with character and people. Shame it was really dirty and needed some basic updating, you can keep the charm with some simple cleaning and upgrading.

One of the best places we've stayed in Hawaii.
Located on the less populated western side of the island, the Waimea Plantation Cottages was a wonderful getaway. We had a 2 bedroom ocean front cottage that was less than 50 yards from the beach. Our cottage was isolated from other surrounding cottages. The cottages themselves are still a bit 'rustic,' but have all the amenities you would need. The restaurant and coffee truck on site were both great and anyone staying here must stop at JoJo's shave Ice for the best shave ice on the island! We would highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful quaint place
This is a quaint place in a beautiful location. We had an ocean view cottage. The bathrooms are a bit run down with poor lighting but overall a wonderful stay. I especially appreciated the free laundry. The sunsets were amazing and staff very friendly.

Waimea Plantation Cottages - Woeful experience
Booked Waimea Plantation Cottages accommodation thru Coast Hotel’s website that had free cancellation to the day before check-in. A few days later received an email that offered a substantial discount. So, booked at the discounted rate and requested Coast Hotel to cancel our fist booking and explicitly mentioned the reason that we booked at the discounted rate. To our surprise Waimea Plantation Cottages cancelled both our reservations. It took several weeks after numerous follow-ups to our surprise they booked at a higher rate. Again after numerous follow later our discounted rate accommodation was booked. Naghmeh from Coast Hotel’s offered 500 reward points for the inconvenience they caused. Requested Naghmeh to convert reward points to a dollar value as we were not going to book thru Coast Hotel due to our dreadful booking experience. Naghmeh did convert the points to $14.60 and I was informed that Waimea Plantation Cottages will adjust when we stay. During Check-in I reminded the staff of the credit, I was informed that it will be adjusted in our account. During check-out I again confirmed with the check-out staff. I was assured that the credit has been applied. I took their word at face value and also as were rushing to catch our flight I did not check the details. On checking our account statement to my surprise they did not apply the credit. Staff at check-in and again at check-out lied to me. I again had to follow-up with Naghmeh for resolution, it took couple of days for resolution. The accommodation was just ok. It is dated which is ok, however the bathroom sink and the kitchen sink was very old, had discoloured, didn’t look clean. The kitchen sink top had a rusted metal top, very disgusting. The rooms were reasonable size with comfortable bed. There was AC in all rooms that was good. The location is very good, outdoor amenities are good. Given our booking /reservation saga and check-in/check-out experience I won’t recommend this place.

Beautiful Peaceful "Old" Hawaii
Individual original Hawaiian cottages restored to very good condition. Each cottage is set on the 27 acre ocean front property for privacy. The mature landscape palette is fantastic and only available in a 100+ year old landscape. If you'd like to experience "old " Hawaii of the early 1900's, this is your opportunity. This was our second stay at the cottages and it will be returning soon.
