Still not quite five star.
We have been visiting Waves for several years. You would have thought it would be getting better now that it is owned by Marriott. Not so. They have given it a lick of paint. Bathrooms are still desperately in need of refitting. The Asian restaurant appears to have been shut for months. Why on earth would it take that long to refit it. During our week there it didn’t progress at all. I could have had it open in 24 hours with a few people working there!!! The water taxi is normally a big draw for us allowing guests to visit other hotels in the chain. Marriott have all other hotels up the coast closed so the only hotel the water taxi goes to us Crystal Cove about five minutes away. Why on earth would Marriott close and refurb several hotels at the same time. Any one with any sense would do them one at a time. We had originally booked Treasure Beach 12 months ago. It was due to open six months ago. Delay after delay. Still not open. We walked past it a few days ago and it was still closed with workmen all over it even though it was scheduled to be open the following day. I feel sorry for all those guests who were booked to stay there. Goodness knows where they will put them. Back to Waves. The staff in the most part seem fairly happy to be there. Christine in the restaurant and coffee shop continues to shine. The lads at the water sports were very good. The lad who took me sailing in the hobbie cat was good fun. Sorry can’t remember his name. The lady looking after our room did a fantastic job. Top tip. Try and book a sea view room. The view is spectacular. You will never get fed up looking at the sea.

Disappointed and let down.
For the third consecutive year, we booked a spa side one bedroom suite but for the third time were told we had been assigned a standard room. As before, it was only after making a huge fuss and refusing to accept this, we were eventually given a one bedroom suite overlooking the toilet rooftop. Following the refurbishment of the hotel, there were still a number of outstanding snagging issues that had not been resolved. For the second year, the Shiso restaurant was closed which meant the Seascape restaurant was extremely busy and staff were frequently overwhelmed. Ongoing refurbishment works were noisy and inconvenient. We doubt rebranding the hotel will make it better for the future and will not be returning. This is sad, as individual members of staff are lovely and are let down by their mangement and reservations team.

Experience never to be forgotten!
Wonderful hotel our allocated room was not ready after waiting an hour we were given an ocean front room for the one night. Highly recommend you book one of these our allocated room was road side it was huge but could hear slight road noise, we were not in the room much so not an issue. Rooms were spotless and the housekeeping team are a credit to the hotel as is all the other staff members I have never encountered such genuine lovely people made our stay extra special. You have to book the restaurant every night Food was amazing they have various menus each night as the Thai restaurant is still undergoing restoration. Breakfast and lunch was good lots of options the local birds do like to fly in to say hello! Found the sea hard to get into definitely need beach shoes Adults pool was great waiter service for your drinks and an ice lolly too! We went on the Mount Gay Rum tour I would say more rum tasting as no tour you sit and watch a film on how it is made so felt expensive for what it was. Nice local supermarket up the road turn left and it’s a short walk called Jordan’s. Would highly recommend the Reggie Reggie bus to Holetown and Bridgetown cheap and fun. Taxi ‘s expensive so would avoid. Overall an amazing stay thank you to all the team!

Unhelpful staff
Property is nice enough especially if all the facilities are open. It’s all inclusive but limited options and unfriendly/unhelpful staff so next to impossible to get anything in a timely fashion. If you want a cappuccino ordered during breakfast it’s a minimum of 20 minutes wait. Any small request -you’re given a fake disdain smile. Small gym with no weight machines. The adult only section is across the street and no beach views. The Asian fusion restaurant has been closed for months with only one restaurant option opened for meals. Mosquitos in the room. Restaurant staff never come over and check on you. Would not stay here again.

Love the Waves
This lovely all-inclusive is a few minutes outside of downtown where all the other hotels are. Located on a private beach, They have 2 parts to the hotel, which are family friendly(oceanfront ) the other side is adults only ( doesn’t have the scenic oceanfront views). Both sides have amazing restaurants, but the all inclusive bar is on the family side. Bartenders definitely aim to please 😉. The staff is professional, and young enough to know how to get everything you need - like where to go party/ events or how to get festival costumes last minute. They were also very protective of me and my friend as females at the resort. One of my best travel experiences.
